a bear-hedgehog? That's awesome! Of coarse...I may be biased. XP

Thanks a lot! And well, every one have their own favorite animals, then I'm biased too

Thank you well, respect to speculative creatures, I've found that it's difficult for me imagine creatures that not be vertebrates...

Β‘IncreΓble! =O Me encanta como lo has representado, las proporciones, el color y la textura del pelaje... y sobre todo la cabeza! Puede apreciarse una clara influencia de Deinogalerix

Zimices In reply to electreel [2012-04-13 22:14:55 +0000 UTC]

Muchas gracias , aunque necesita algunos retoques.

electreel In reply to Zimices [2012-04-13 23:11:48 +0000 UTC]

Sinceramente creo que es demasiado grande para un animal isleΓ±o descendiente del erizo...
PD: Siento no haber comentado dΓas antes, tuve que estudiar para unos cuantos exΓ‘menes.

Zimices In reply to electreel [2012-04-13 23:31:44 +0000 UTC]

Eso es psoible, pero 500 kg es el tamaΓ±o de un oso de Kodiak y su Γ‘rea de distribucion no es mayor que el area de Nueva Zelanda. Pero a lo mejor haya que reducirlo a 100 kg...

How big is it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimices In reply to Asanbonsam [2012-04-13 07:23:07 +0000 UTC]

The info of Leggurm says 3-4 m in length and 500 kg in weight (the proportions of a huge bear)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Asanbonsam In reply to Zimices [2012-04-13 15:26:34 +0000 UTC]

Isn't that a bit too big for New zealand? I mean considered the raised sea-levels its probably even smaller than today.

Don't take it the wrong way, but I thought that it was a animal that was about to take the role of a hippo.

Ah, I saw that one before, but it looks more like a tapir than a hippo, to me.

Zimices In reply to PonchoFirewalker01 [2012-04-13 00:24:26 +0000 UTC]

No problem, I guess that is because the short legs and large head... although I based the head in the extinct hedgehog Deinogalerix with the body of a bear. Anyway, maybe it can swim in rivers for food.

PonchoFirewalker01 In reply to Zimices [2012-04-13 00:26:07 +0000 UTC]

Ah okay
But its a cool deal. I mean, hippos are really dangerous and actually kill more people in Africa than any other species, so it would be a compliment.

A hippo-hedgehog? the idea sounds good, but I'm not sure if in New Zeland could exist this niche... well, this is another question to the group.

You're welcome! It's actually quite amusing to think about the fact that this creature and the chevrotain dolphins evolved from such cute creatures as hedgedogs and chevrotains! It makes me think Indohyus must have been quite cute as well...

The second I read "gigaerinaceus" I was like: "Wow, what? A giant hedgehog?" And I was right! XD I love the looks of it, it still has some resemblance to a hedgehog even though it's a completely different animal right now... The hedgehogs I know are cute little guys, but I certainly wouldn't appreciate meeting this big fella in a dark alley!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zimices In reply to PeteriDish [2012-04-12 06:10:08 +0000 UTC]

I see. Personally I don't know any hedgehog, then I based more in Deinogalerix - their skull is just fearsome! Although this animal is actually eats plants too

Thanks, it needs some additional works, but is the basic idea: a crossing between a bear and Deinogalerix
