traveling into the city one day i sat across from this character who sat like this for most of the trip, looking extremely dejected and alone. for me, it was a moment i just had to photograph. he looked out of the window once or twice. I took about 5 frames of him, and I like this one the most.shot in late october 2006, afternoon, with a 35/2 on a nikon fm, about f/2 or 2.8 so as to blur out the background. 1/500th on the shutter to balance out the exposure. film was ilford hp5 at 400 developed in dd-x. scanned from the neg. in photoshop, i did some contrast and levels, plus some burning on his head.

It's moments like these that I wish I had my camera with me alot of the time. You just see so much stuff which should be saved. This is one of those moments, you kinda wonder to yourself what he must be thinking off and your heart goes out to him.

i love this shot, it's as if this guy is on top of an iceberg converging towards the front of the bus, exposed and thrown in your face.
really nice overall tones, not too contrasty but interesting. love how the lights fit in.

This is so powerful morgan. Everything in this photo seems to be positioned so well, from the subject to the apathetic people in the background. His clothes are so creased and detailed, in contrast to the other peoples smooth and fuzzy complexion. It gives the impression that he's so tense, and in pain. And his hands! Favourite from me.

its not a great scanner, some come through sharper than others... i didn't use anything to sharpen it though.
