Fantastic bike. Love the wings on the back.
I made my own hoverbike for a superhero movie I am trying to make. Check out the test video here:

It's my most popular video, but also the most disliked. Guess people are upset it isn't real.

I like it, im starting a concept bike of my own. Runs on a magnetic field and has wings that fold down into the sides so it can fly to certain altitudes as well.
All in all though a very good model and concept.

I love the way you detail you models.. what kind of tecnic do you use? Polymodel or textures for it?

ZackF In reply to NinjASD [2009-10-21 15:59:16 +0000 UTC]
Thanks man! For this particular image, what I did is take a screenshot of a 3D model and draw on top of it in Photoshop. The final 3D asset would use modeling to represent all the details, but it's easier to improvise designs by drawing than by modeling sometimes, so doing a "paintover" like this can be very helpful during the process.

It's going on the shelf for a bit, I got a bit burned out working on it. I'll definitely get around to finishing it eventually though.

Wow, great job. I wish I had one. Definitly looks plausible. Wish I had that kind of skill to do all my weapons and vehicles.

Looks able to be rode. Did you use any motorcycles for reference or anything like that?

ZackF In reply to The-Tabla-Engine [2009-07-14 16:22:02 +0000 UTC]
Quite a few! There are about 7 real bikes I have as general references so far, as well as 11 references of just engines. At one point I also posed a standard skeleton over the bike to get a solid sense of human proportions. I'm very glad it comes across as plausible.

Thanks! Yep, I'm planning to bake the detail down to a sub-8,500 triangle mesh once I finish making the high resolution version.

That will be a pain. Especially if you're projecting onto a low poly model

Yep, 8,500 tri limit on the low poly, and the contest ends on Friday. Gonna have to crank!
