- As punishment Belgium had to walk shoeless through Ghent with a hangman's knot around her neck and wearing a tabard.

: S-sorry Belgium, you can really stop walking around with a knot . Here why don't you wear a tie instead.

- But Belgium kept walking once a year with a knot and tabard through the city of Ghent as a symbol of her proudnes of her stubbornness.

I based this comic on the fact that the nickname of the people of ghent (wich is a city in Belgium) is 'stroppendragers'( wearer of knots). This is because the people of Ghent didn't agree with the spanish rulers about how much they had to pay so much for the Italian conquest. They got punished hard for that and one of those punishments was having to walk through Ghent without shoes in a tabard with a knot around their necks. To this day the people of ghent walk once a year in a tabard with a knot around there neck to celebrate that they were stubborn.
