When inhabiting his materialized body, Baku is extremely weak. The muscles are quite fragile and even the simplest of cuts can cause him to 'bleed' quite a bit.

Due to the burning curse he's received from his creators, Baku has developed a sort of phobia when it comes to any sort of flame. He will enter a state of anxiety when confronted by his fears, leaving him widely vulnerable.

Harbors a horrific appetite when it comes to dreams. He becomes hungry very quickly and struggles quite a lot to keep his desires for aspirations in check. Feeds on nightmares, but that does little to satisfy him at times.

Baku is typically known to be quite the helpful spirit, often going out of his way to offer aid to those who may need it. Doing so gives the being a sense of contentment in knowing he was able to be of some use to another, no matter how small or big it may be. He is also seen as being very urbane; speaking in a refined manner and holding a suave attitude to most people he meets.

Baku tends to be very curious as an individual, his thirst for knowledge of the unknown fueling him to often question things he can't seem to understand. As a naturally diligent person, he prefers to put 100% of himself and then some into everything he does. He believes that one should always take care in their work and be thorough with things that are deemed important.

As of recently, he has shown himself to be a rather mischievous person--showing a strange affinity for causing trouble when he knows he can get away with it. He makes sure that his devilish playfulness would not disrupt important tasks that need to get done, but rather has it so that he is able to be amused while doing them. Baku also holds a deep seeded greediness that surfaces in desires he chooses to pursue. Should he want something bad enough, he will entertain intense and selfish thoughts in ways to obtain it...although a good majority of the time he manages to stop himself from doing so, even though it's a very real struggle.

Background:
Similar to that of a rag doll, the Gods had sewn together a spirit from various animal parts that they found favor in labeling as a Dream Eater. He wasn't their first creation, and he would hardly be their last. Just as quickly as they had woven together his existence did they launch the hollow being into the realm of mortals where he would feed upon dream after dream, in hopes of quenching his undying appetite. As to the reasoning behind his own voracious hunger, the spirit known simply as 'Baku' couldn't quite say. What he could understand though, was that with each nightmare he consumed the more he felt his once empty soul fill up with a strange mix of emotions. It was a confusing thing to feel, but one the spirit took a great liking to.

Baku spent the next century since his creation wandering the world in search of humans who may have called upon him to do away with their nightmares. He would find himself obediently answering their calls, a swell of both joy and an odd sense of competence ushering him to take action on their behalf. Soon enough, the spirit felt as though he had found his place with assisting mortals with their unwanted dreams, his newfound helpful nature depicting the Baku as a benevolent creature among the humans who would pray for him. However, with each nightmare he consumed he felt a need to have more than just that. A greediness sprouted within Baku that made way to a ferocious new desire; in addition to the bad dreams that he would be called to deal with, the being found himself taking pleasure in also devouring the aspirations of those willing enough to summon him. Such behaviors developed a sort of mischievousness in him that hadn't been there before; when a human would call for him he would enter their existence with full knowledge of his gluttonous ways, brushing it off as the mortal was simply compensating him for his services. The Baku had become so blinded by his hunger that his once sacred reputation had become so widely spread as that of a tainted one, eventually reaching the attention of the Gods who had given life to the dream eater.

He was called upon immediately by his creators, and their rapid questioning of his actions prompted Baku to retaliate defensively. There was little he could do as a spirit against such powerful higher beings though; the Gods decided to place a fatal curse upon the single dream eater for his deviant ways that had caused him to fall from grace. They warned Baku that should he continue on the path he had found himself on, the 'disease' they placed over his right eye and both of his wrists would spread to the rest of his body, corrupting and transfiguring his spirit until only a hapless demon remained. It would prove to be a painful process as well--with each hope and positive dream he chose to devour, the Baku's scarred eye would burn with an immense flame, while the pointed black rings around his wrists would close in to pierce his soul. Such an event placed upon him left the creature shaken, an awareness finally being kindled within him. If he would want to survive the curse, he was told that he'd have to settle himself properly with the mortals once more.

In order to do so, he pondered a great deal over his options. In the modern age he found himself in, there seemed to be less prayers asking for a dream eater to neutralize nightmares. As it was, it would be difficult to win over the humans as he had done so in the past, but the Baku was determined to do about anything. Although he felt bitterness towards the Gods for what they had done to him, the spirit eventually found this to be reasonable once he took the time to reflect. It was but a small price to pay, he supposed, for all the wrongs he had caused to the mortals over the past decades--or so he would convince himself as much as he needed to in order to soothe the anger he once felt. It was at the time that a curious invitation to a 'Crepuscule Estate' found its way into his hands. Having read it over, it raised a lot of interest in the spirit right from the start. It would be a learning place for those who would want to find a useful place for themselves in the current world. It was as if fortune had answered him as soon as he was whisked away to the mysterious Estate. Perhaps he could learn a few things on how to mix with the humans better as he had been instructed. After all, there was little he could do on his own now...and really, what was there to lose at this point?

◐ Kumo is his 'familiar' of sorts--a pet cloud he's able to summon from the nape of his neck. Virtually useless and harmless, Baku typically likes to keep his friend around purely for the soft feel he can get from it
◐ It's not a necessity for him to eat anything other than nightmares, but he enjoys doing so nonetheless for some reason..
◐ His favorite 'food' happens to be copper or metals--
◐ On each wrist floats two black circular cuffs with four pointed thorns aiming inwards. This is a part of the curse he received from his creators and is impossible to remove
◐ The right side of his face covered by his eye patch is a mystery--no one has ever seen what lies underneath the fabric--
◐ He literally wears the thing everywhere he goes too--
