Yeah you're right in that the background is kinda similar to the owl in the level of detail. I had a bit of trouble with it, but I'm pretty happy how it eventually turned out! I did rush this a little bit, and pretty much focused on this the whole thursday :^). I hate rushing anything because usually the quality suffers for it, and it's not really fun either.
Thanks a lot for your comment tho :3. It's really nice getting comments from you!

I'm crazy impressed that you may have done this in one sitting though. Damn. I'm such a slowpoke when it comes to my paintings, and I'm terrible at rushing anything myself, if upkeep of quality is anything to speak on. And no, it's usually never fun to rush : (Β Β
From me? T-thanks! I hope it's not intruding of me or anything.

I wouldn't recommend binging any projects like that since it's just stressful and terrible, but that's the price I've gotta pay for not starting the thing earlier :^). It's fine to take your time with drawings ! Also, I'm sure you'll get faster over time but luckily doing art isn't a game of speed. You can take as long as you like, or be as fast as you're comfortable!
Also, of course you're not intruding! Your comments are always so delightful. I want to keep replying as well since the comments are so nice, and I also need to get better at socialising online :^).

It is really nice what you sometimes can find just skipping trough here. A very powerfull picture. Very colorfull and even so the Owl takes a bit of the edge it still gives a clear message. "One way or another, this is not going to end well"

Outstanding work, mate!
Β This is a perfect example of how some improvised decisions during the working process can give your image a background... both visually and contextually :3
Β And I'm glad you added those light outlines for your figure, otherwise it would merge with the background and that's not preferable with how much you tried to let the figure be the focal point of your painting.

Haha, I usually prefer having a clear plan as to what im doing, since it helps with having confidence in the drawing :^). But either way I'm really happy how it turned out.
I still think the contrast between the character and the background is a bit too low. I feel like the owl could pop out a bit more, but it's fine and i'll just blame it on rushing this :^).
Thanks a lot for your comment! I really appreciate that you like commenting a lot :3!

You're welcome and yes, I like commenting very much... I just so often struggle with the right words to start.
Β Do you have any ideas for your next artwork?

Yeah, sometimes it's difficult to just speak your mind and coming up with decent wording is a skill on its own :^).
Also sorry, I have been a bit busy and it's been stressful so I didn't reply to you earlier. Yesh, I did have an idea and it's done and submitted already :^)))).

Β Meanwhile you create more and more magnificent illustrations and I barely get any sketch done with the school load on my shoulders at the moment >M<

OvO
I love how this turned out. Even though the background is quite complex, the focus is still on the owl, which I imagine wasn't particularly easy to pull off, so good job! Also, you said you had trouble with the feet, but I think they look perfect and very believable (and also fluffy ). I wasn't too sure if I liked the hat when I first saw it, but now I'm definitely glad you decided to put it there, it rounds out the character and gives it a nice silhouette.Β
I've also just thought of a different idea for the background: it's basically the same sort of nebulas and colorful streaks, but with some sort of portal-thingy somewhere in there. So a doorway to another space of time, which could fit nicely and maybe help out even more to make the foreground and background work together :3
All in all, fantastic piece as always. I'm already looking forward to the next one!

I'm very glad you liked the painting :3! Your comment always cheers me up
You're definitely right that some connecting element between the foreground and background would work wonders! However, you know pretty well the time constraints I was under:3
Also, I like how the owlΒ l e g sΒ turned out too.
