Personality: In contrast to his flashy coat, Equinox is one of those horses who waits and observes silently, melting into the background instead of jumping out there and making himself known. Despite his tendency toward being unnoticeable, he has a large heart and is loyal to those who show him kindness and who he considers friends.
He's also a quick learner, and has an odd habit of collecting the heartstones of dead wraiths.

History: Named for the Fall day on which he was born, Equinox's first challenge was a week after his birth when the first snowstorms of the season hit. Being just a week old and exposed to extreme winds, harsh temperatures and biting snow, most of his herd refused to acknowledge him unless he was with his dam and took to calling him 'the Corpse' because they figured he didn't have a chance. Thrust into the background from birth, he became introverted by nature, quiet and shadow-like.

Even after he'd survived the winter strong and healthy, the offhanded way the herd members regarded him never changed, even if the nickname slowly disappeared. Alone and feeling isolated, Equinox withdrew further into his own shell and stopped even communicating with the others. It was only after his mother gave birth to his half-brother, Solstice, that he started to emerge again. Not even a full year apart, the two half brothers became inseparable. Nox learned from Solstice how to trust again, though he did it sparingly, and he integrated himself (somewhat forcefully) back into the herd. In return, he taught Solstice how to fight to keep the life he'd been given.
