Tracey the Unwilling Celebrity - 1

A new reality TV show was on the airwaves. It was called 'Crime and Punishment' and it showed prisoners - invariably female - being punished in public on TV. The show claimed that its purpose was to 'deter crime' by showing the public 'what happens to prisoners who break the law.'

The pilot show was a large success with millions of viewers and excellent reviews by the press and media. After that, the ratings began to drop and the show was moved from its prime time slot to a late night one.

Mr Chambers, the producer, was worried about the future of his show. He'd been told by his boss that unless ratings improved the show would be dropped. Going to the production crew, he gave them the bad news. Of course because corporal punishment of women was totally legal now the production team discussed what could be done.

One of the crew made the obvious suggestion.

'The trouble is that the punishments are too soft. The show's been on for six months now and in all that time not one of the prisoners has had more than 8 strokes. Mostly it's been just 2 or 3.'

'Well, that's not our decision,' Mr Chambers said. 'The prison authorities tell us how many strokes we're allowed to give the girls. I'd love to give more but we have to follow what the prison tells us to do.'

In a last attempt to save the ratings, Mr Chambers took on a new member of staff as the show's new presenter. He fired the male compere and replaced her with Tracey Smith, a 25-year old girl. Tracey was very attractive and with big tits and a prominent arse she was an instant hit with the audience. Her irresistible mixture of vulnerability and sexiness made the ratings soar again.

Meanwhile viewers poured in comments - mostly obscene - on ordinary and social media. Many of the ideas were centred around the idea of subjecting Tracey to some kind of public punishment on the television show and Mr Chambers began to ponder if there was some way that could be arranged.

In the meantime Mr Chambers, following suggestions from viewers, decided to change Tracey's already skimpy costume. Up to now she had worn a short skirt, high heeled shoes and a white blouse. He told her that from now on she would be expected to present the show in a two-piece bikini. Naturally that outfit would be even shorter and more revealing than her existing one!

Tracey's new costume aroused even more obscene comments and yet more suggestions that the format of the show ought to be changed so that instead of the generally not very attractive female convicts the audience got to watch getting a few strokes of the cane it should be Tracey every week getting punished for the entertainment of the viewing public!

It was a week before the next show was due to go out and the TV channel's manager called Mr Chambers into his office.

'It's about Tracey,' he said. 'She's the only reason your show's still on air. The audience tune in to see that dumb blonde with the big tits and every day we get loads of guys writing in - and some women too - saying they want Tracey to be punished on live TV. Now I don't know how we can do that because at the moment she isn't a criminal. But I think there are two possible ways round that problem. One is to fit her up for some fictitious crime, get her banged up for a long prison sentence and come to an arrangement with the prison governor to let her appear on our show once a week.'

'And the other one?'

'Make it an interactive show. Each week Tracey could go on trial before a live audience with a real judge and a real prosecutor. The viewers get to vote on whether she's guilty of some fictitious crime - which of course they always WILL find her guilty of - and then vote on what punishment she could get.'

'I like the interactive idea better. But how would we get Tracey to agree to it?'

'Leave that to me. I'll - persuade her - it's in her best interests to agree to her new role in the show rather than the alternative.'

So Tracey was summoned to the manager's office and he explained to her how he wanted to change the format of the show. Instead of her being the compere she would now be the weekly 'defendant' in a show trial with a public punishment voted on by viewers.

'But that sounds like it could be very painful for me, sir,' Tracey protested. 'Dangerous, even.'

'Painful, yes; but your suffering will be in a good cause. If you agree to be our weekly 'criminal' then I'll raise your salary.'

'And if I don't?'

'Then I have enough contacts in the courts and the police force and prison services to see to it that you get framed for a crime and sentenced to at least five years imprisonment with hard labour. The choice is yours, Tracey. Pain and humiliation but money and freedom or pain and humiliation with no money and no freedom.'

Tracey gulped when she heard the boss' threat.

'I don't seem to have much choice, sir. Very well, I accept your offer to be the weekly - defendant - on the show. Will there be a lawyer defending me?'

'Oh no, you'll have to defend yourself. More fun that way. So if you'll just sign here for me...'

A reluctant Tracey did as she was told. It really did seem like the lesser of two evils.

But next week she'd find out quite how unpleasant her new role on the show would be!
