Another for the Ninja Turtles collection.One of Shredder's foot soldiers looking a bit battle damaged. I tried to make it look more sinister than those things in the cartoon that would explode in a stiff breeze.

haha. I'm having a hard enough time motivating myself to draw anything in vector at all. I don't think that's likely to happen.

Y'know, I never liked the idea that all of Shredder's Foot Soldiers were robots. I always thought they should be mostly normal people, and maybe have one or two that were robots, but those one or two were REALLY tough cookies.
This redesign makes me think they could have been bad-ass robots.

The shambling pose makes me think of zombies, but the missing "eye" and arm definitely scream Terminator. insatiable drone meets cold, analytical hunter; now that's a Foot Soldier I'd be proud to run away in fear from.

I like this style alot more than the humna ninja foot clan. Plus it gives more to work with when it comes down to the robot style foot clan.

Actually, the Foot clan robots did have ONE advantage, they were so easy to make that the Shredder and Krang could afford to let the TMNT wipe out a whole army of them and then just make another army right after they did.

I liked it better when the foot soldiers were a bunch of teenagers in costume who had a crash course in martial arts and then were sent out on the street to do commit crimes. Well kind of. I just think beating up real people who are doing bad things is far more fun than beating up robots. Don't get me wrong robots have their uses. And they can still be cool
All told I like the art. Fan art of my childhood favorite shows is always welcome.

I used to feel like that too, but the idea of the robot soldiers is just so much more campy and 80s. Any show can have confused teenagers trying to be ninjas, it takes The Ninja Turtles to have robot ninjas from Dimension X.

haha. Yeah! You'd think that a person would make robot soldiers to be tougher than flesh and blood soldiers, but the ones in TMNT were more fragile than infants. It was goofy.

well, ninjas in general are fragile and disposable. In most samurai films, I'm watching well over 600 ninjas getting killed but one lone samurai.
