Description
Introducing Arzak's mother - Findiel!
Findiel was engaged to Tygil. They thought back to back in defending Itharia. Yet the fall of this great kingdom of men could not be prevented. They parted as the Igvars burnt the city. Tygil’s sword fallen with his knees, his cloak soaked in sand and mud. Findiel while making time for people to flee, she met Theodús who sunk her in one strike. Never had her fear being so deep, like shadows from an abyss that swallowed all. Findiel was captured by the Igvars and carried to the land where no living could enter - Lucheim.
Though many winters passed, Findiel’s grace did not fade; as in the underworld, time cannot change a person. When Findiel returned from Lucheim, she found Tygil again. He was laying in bed, old and grey, withering in illness. Tygil was blind that he could not see his love. Through his words, Findiel learnt that he sacrificed his sight and years of life to the gods for a glimpse of hope.
“It has been long that we parted,” Findiel said in a whispering voice, "So many promises, so many visions, all too late to make true..."
“Yet we meet soon enough.” Tygil held Findiel’s hands in his. For some moment, Findiel could hear was Tygil’s faint breathing sound.
They spent three quiet days, beholding the boundless sea. Then Tygil passed away in his chair with the final light of that day. The ravens were flying away to the far shores beyond the waves, their wings flapping in later summer’s wind, carried nothing with them. Findiel could not tell Tygil that she was bearing a child, for his woe too deep.
This was the lay of Tygil, his soul forever vanished, that could not be even found in the frosty mountains of Lucheim.
