Hahah, so guess what? I switched out the cookie bag mylar for better mylar. And I didn't have to pay a penny.

How you ask?

It's another funny story, really. My fiancee and I are driving back from the grocery store, and we see a jacked up TV. Now, I don't know what makes her stop driving, but she does, and we're just staring at it for what seems like a while. I finally see some kind of glimmer in the tv itself and get out of the car. It's friggin' grade A mylar! I couldn't believe it! I had no idea about how TV's worked, so I had no idea that I'd find any reflective plastic inside. It was really the only thing that wasn't busted too! Score! So we cut the top of it, peeled off the rest, and took that little f*cker home. We felt like proper scavengers XD

So anyway, about the boot. I covered most of it in foamie (yes, craft foam) to recreate the 'hard shell' on the boot. The metal piece is actually a wreathe hanger for your door that I bent into the shape I need, and the black stuff is just regular ol' dollar acrylic black paint that took really well to the boot.

The inside of the boot on the sides are lined with plastic mesh (the kind of you crochet with) to keep it's form and to hold the straps down in place. Hot glue was used EVERYWHERE. I will be adding some small details, like cutting out a sliver of the heel so it looks like the metal runs all the way along til where the heel is, and some black outlining on the inside of the boot.

After I finish them up I'll be working on my tank top and racerback tank, so til' then!
