Thank you sir! This series is very special to me. Shot with a Nikon FM 35mm, in 1981, no flash, pulled ASA to 1600, all shots hand held, pushed developing of Tri-X 400 to 3Xnormal. The Ballet Company used these pics for the next 25 yrs when they did their annual Nutcracker Ballet Performance at Christmas! I was very honored. Ironically, after having studied the choreography for 6 wks in studio rehearsals, after I printed and set up a portfolio for the families to order prints... I never sold a one! So, this was my first and last experience with Ballet photography!

Frank and Irena Pal... they are internationally famous, but some oil millionaires got together and offered to set them up in their own studio, house, etc, to move here to Wichita Falls, TX and give their kids some ballet training. Years, decades ago. They passed away. But they are googlable I believe. At any rate, The guy in Dance_Dance_Dance_1, and the lady in the foreground of that same pic, married, and ended up buying the studio. Then years later they divorced. I don't think there's anyone who compares to the company as it was. No, don't think I'll be going back again, but I appreciate the wonderful compliment! I've pretty much retired from photography. I have 10,000$ worth of antiquated Nikon equipment. I've shot free lance for magazines that came and went here (x3), worked as a photojournalist for a brief period of time, shot most of family's weddings, love nature photography. But sadly, what I've found is that everyone is pretty much satisfied with what they can get out of their iPhones...and, really, the iPhones have a larger capture digitally than any of my Nikons! My 35mm lenses, where most of the money is tied up, will not work on my digitals. I moved into nursing for 15 years, and never really had the money to replace the 35mm lenses with digital equivalents. As long as I have been on here (11 years) the only pic that ever sold was one I bought for one of my daughters for a Christmas present! I passed the baton on to the next generation, I suppose. The eyes ain't what they used to be, as I'm 62. LOL!
