You were lucky, My grandfather lived at the other end of Canada from me and the other was halfway across the country so I hardly ever saw them. Plus one died when I was a little kid and don't even remember the time when he came to see us.

It did for me. BUt now, I've learned to go beyond the bad parts because there are always good parts in life anyway

it's good to here that you've overcome your difficulties! As for me, luckily I haven't faced anything that was so bad. I'm somewhat a carefree person when it comes to bad situations, to the point of lazy
But however good or bad reality is, everyone wants to escape to the memories of the good times sometimes

Not all. Just most. One thing's for sure was that I acknowledged that hate is just as inevitable as love, which basically meant that I just need to handle and deal with it when whatever happens happen ,you know 
There will always be good; there will always be bad. Just remember the good because one thing's for sure: humans are meant for good. At least that's what I believe in really

I don't know how to reply because it's hard to find words to express my thought in English, but I agree with you, life is unexpected, there're moments you'll think you can't handle the situation, but when you give it time, you'll find that bad things are not the worst things that can happen to us, and there're always good things you can learn from it
