To say that the two were nervous would be an understatement.

After Solas had finished with Arty's basic training, he had officially passed the young zlesdin off to his rightful owner, Pythia. Granted, Pythia still had the Centre's owner stick around a while longer, having less experience with younger horses herself and deciding that his guiding hand would still be beneficial to have around for the time being. Choosing which direction to lead Arty for his future career came with some trouble; his sire and dam came from somewhat different backgrounds when it came to the classes they partook in. Arty was a good mover, and could be a pleasant ride to the dressage ring, but on the other hand, he had shown a few times goofing around in the pasture and the arena that he would do fine in the jumping world as well.

It all boiled down to the decision of starting him in jumping, but not completely discarding the idea of a dressage career either. Teaching him the basic groundwork would be beneficial, while dipping their toes in an active jumping career for the moment. With that settled, training had begun, and ran much smoother with a clear plan in sight.

Arty, while occasionally getting fed up every now and then when pushed harder than he was comfortable with, did at the least seem to be open towards learning, which was a good thing. He was picking things up at a decent rate, and with any luck, would be show ready in no time. Starting small of course, and building up. Pythia had been scourging ads, news, and everything in-between in hopes of finding a show that, while legit, did offer lower level classes that would be good for her spotted companion. It was only when Solas brought word of an event being held in Frederiksberg he'd heard of from one of their affiliates that things got serious. After looking the event over a few times, Pythia decided to jump on it. A goal in mind had the team working harder than ever to be sure they were show ready.

When the time finally came for the show, nerves were at an all time high. While Pythia had competed before, it would be her first time taking Arsonist's Lullaby anywhere other than the arena and the occasional trails. She wasn't worried per say, but a healthy does of caution never hurt anyone. Getting settled in was an ordeal, with the young stallion seemingly curious about every little thing, wanting to take the time to smell every metaphorical rose. After getting everything figured out, as well as having Arty checked over by the vet, all they had left to do was wait for the big moment. The time to see if all their work thus far would pay off.

Regardless of what happened, it wouldn't change anything. If they passed with a clear round, it would mean experience and the chance to go even further. If something went wrong, it just meant they'd have to keep up. Either way, Pythia was proud of how far they'd come thus far, and was looking forward to the future.
I don't think I've written anything that long for awhile... anyways! Pythia and the beloved Arsonist's Lullaby at their first show, how exciting Through this I discovered that Arson is a pain to shade, but we love him regardless. Here's to more shows with this pair! Arson is shown in a bitless bridle for now, as currently he has issues with bits, they tend to aggravate him and make him antsy. I am also counting this as the last piece towards his equibreak, so he is hopefully finished there if/once accepted.
