Description
Jaguar - Ballpoint Pen (lost 20% quality during scanning)This is my first Jaguar drawing ever.
The jaguar (Panthera onça) is a big cat, a feline in the Panthera genus, and is the only Panthera species found in the Americas. The jaguar is the third-largest feline after the tiger and the lion, and the largest in the Western Hemisphere.
This spotted cat most closely resembles the leopard physically, although it is usually larger and of sturdier build and its behavioral and habitat characteristics are closer to those of the tiger.
Took aprox. 15 hours to finish.
Curious fact: I clean my pen's tip once a minute, so over 15 hours I cleaned it at least 900 times.
The original size is 6" x 8,5" or 15cm x 22cm (small).

Question: So, for the whiskers and things, do you have a white ballpoint pen (if those exist) or do you deliberately leave those spots of the page blank?

I leave white areas white. No such thing as a white ballpoint (taht I know of) I have only seen gel pens, and those suck.

I have never seen white ballpoint also. That's why I have to painstakingly avoid white areas. (I just leave them white.)

I dont know how you get the eyes of the animals in these drawings to look so life like but it is absolutely amazing. They are so bright and life like. Never once thought ball point pens could do such beautiful work.

I just don't see how that this can be made from ball point pens. how do you get the different shades of brown and black? Or even the shades of green in the backround? Id like to see a video of you drawing it to actualy believe it

how is it possible being that small, that you can use a ballpoint, no matter how clean, and et lines that fine with any control? are you using a microscope?

i'm sorry but it looks like you are just using a photoshop filter on a photograph.. skeptical that you did this freehand with ink pens. Are you an autistic savant? Then I would believe it.

i agree. infact i think i've seen a photo of the jaguar on internet. it could be photoshoped like that. the background is far to blury to be bullpointed, but could be wrong. i'm just skeptical.

Do you use references? You're such an amazing artist, and I really want to do things like this! I use a ballpoint pen also, but I've gotten in the digital lately. I'll be back to pens when school comes around!
