Description Oh traditional art, how I've missed you <3

Seriously, why did I go off it? This must have taken me an eighth of the time it takes me to finish something digitally. Or less. I mean, I sketch traditionally all the time, but you can listen to me for days as I gripe about having to line a piece on the computer, which will take 3 hours at least. Here? About fifteen minutes. I mean, I did have to re-line it after discovering that the paper I'd used until that point was really bad for copics. So much for 'bleedproof'. I'll use that pad for sketching though, it feels nice for that at least. Printer paper is the better option for actually colouring (though it does bleed a little, unfortunately, oh well).

And speaking of colouring, I'm so happy with this *^* Having only touched my marker collection once or twice before, with only [The Demon's Seal] Kanani  being a finished outcome, I'd say this is good. Plus I had to do stuff here that would be accurately described as daunting, namely the sheer skirt. I didn't quite emulate nickyflamingo 's awesomeness when it comes to sheer fabrics, but I think I pulled it off decently. :> Certainly to a point I'm happy with~

I got to drag out my gouache and iridescent medium too, so she sparkles [skirt and gem] :3 (Even if you can't see it on the scanned version). I might have overdone it a little with the gouache, but again, I'm happy with this, so that's what matters~

Sorry for the rambling, I'm just really excited and happy with this *__*

Anyway, I've been overdue for some proper fan art for a while, and since I have the right colours and the motivation, here's Blue Pearl. We only got to see her for a few minutes, but she's so cute! *^* I had to.

I thought about giving her some extra decoration on her clothes, but decided against it. I think she looks fine as she is. Plus I didn't want to stuff anything up XD

I mentioned that I'd draw Yellow Pearl next, but I might not be able to colour her for a while, since I'm lacking in my yellows. Lapis Lazuli or Amethyst would be possible to finish because I have a lot of blues and purples, and maybe Peridot. But we'll see what happens. Nothing says my next fan art will be an SU character anyway. I might finally draw someone from Sailor Moon. XD But anyway, I'm done rambling now~

Thank you! <333 Looking at your art really helped with figuring out how to do it, and I'm definitely going to practice doing more, it's a lot of fun, plus I like breaking out my glitter :3

I'm looking forward to doing more traditional stuff too! So much fun, and less anguish than digital :'D I don't think I'll even touch digital for a few months (Haa, and I just got a $300 tablet for christmas as well XD [but I have spent $1000+ on copics without using them for over a year, so... it's time to use them! :3 ])

This is really lovely Shade, I'm not familiar with the character but you've given her such an elegance. I really look forward to more traditional from you as it's so clearly making you happier than digital!

Also I snigger in my corner at your signature

Thanks Snow!

She's not a character that saw much screentime or had any speaking lines, but she is very cute, so I had to draw her XD Plus I have the colours for her, more or less, so she was simple :3 I really look forward to doing more traditional, maybe this way I upload more art every month because I want to do it XD Digital kills my drive a lot >_>

Haha! I'll try and come up with a better one. I kind of just drew it up in 5 minutes because I thought I needed some kind of watermark. XD Maybe I'll just try and find a better signature than the one I've got XD

I haven't watched the series lately (Last I saw was when Ruby and Sapphire (?) first formed Garnet), but I am rather fond of the character designs, especially when drawn in other artists styles. I'm really excited to see you happy about what you're doing too. Traditional was how you started, maybe it's just meant to be <3

Annnnd all good, you don't need to change it! (Just made me giggle!) You can see why I had a little scribbled box now though right? So quick xDD

Then you need to catch up :3 (Do you mean the first time we found out that Garnet was a fusion? Or the first time Ruby and Sapphire ever fused? Because that's the episode Blue Pearl showed up in~). But yes, the character designs are gorgeous, I love how different each of them are, and I love seeing people's interpretations of them. And yes! I'm glad I found where I sit happily with art. Maybe digital was just draining me way too much. Maybe it is where I'm meant to be :3 <3

Baha! I know, but I would like to try and make something more unique. I'm not sure I should just rely on my signature alone, or I should at least come up with another one? I dunno, I'll figure it out XD But yes, I can see why the scribble box is good, down in five minutes, if you can figure out how to write. My handwriting on a tablet is oddly very bad XD
