Description I drew this before the charizard as a matter of fact - a miniminiproject to redesign the eeveelutions in a bit more realistic manner.
This is a species of eevee that is called Blackfoot, characterized - you guessed it - by their dark feet. They are the most widespread of all eevees, while other varietes live in other continents and climates.
Instead of instantly evolving, eevees simply grow into different forms depending on the niches that open in their environment - in a cold climate, they become flareon and glaceon (glaceon in arctic and flareon in subarctic), in an environment with few piscivores they become vaporeon, in an environment with few predators feeding on avians a jolteon, in an area with little daypredation an espeon and in an area with little nocturnal predation an umbreon.
This means that they are pretty much pests in areas they aren't naturally living in, shoving aside natural species such as vulpix.

I guess the elemental stones can be used to forcibly evolve an eevee into a selected form, but that leaves them sterile and more dependent on their owner, since they never 'become adults' mentally.

maybe have leafeon in deserts--plenty of sunlight, not much other prey

There could be a breed of leafeon adapted for desert, but they would need to supplement their diet with food, as I mentioned in the previous comment, photosynthesis is not sufficient to feed a moving animal. :V!

Of course.
But I do like to express why a certain idea might work or not work, since it sounds rude just going "no that doesnt work". :V

they are really interresting, specially because they are different from eevee but at the same time it's nearly identical!

no problem - by the way, your avatar is insane! Diglett and Dugtrio shouldn't move! Because as soon as they move, they don't look like pokemon, they look like something else!!

Muwhaha, double-entendres pry their work here as well.

But anyway, in actuality diglett and dugtrio move in the official anime and everything else, and they actually do move with strange bobbing motions. I bet the game makers themselves were thinking the exact same thing as us when designing it~

yeah - and i lerned the word "dick" because of censorship - i used my mothertounge in a chat and wondered why this word become censored

(dick written in a german sentence means the same like "big/tall/heavy/fat")

umbbe In reply to Schatten-Drache [2011-07-12 19:38:27 +0000 UTC]

Aw, that is a pretty innocent way of learning it.
I can't remember how I learned any of those words, finnish has hardly any common words that equal to a swearword in english. Ah well.

Schatten-Drache In reply to umbbe [2011-07-12 20:51:52 +0000 UTC]

dick is a swear word? i ment this would be just male genitals?

umbbe In reply to Schatten-Drache [2011-07-12 22:19:40 +0000 UTC]

Well, 'censored' word. It's more like an insult.

ah - i understand - wait, really? DAMN!!!

umbbe In reply to Schatten-Drache [2011-07-13 10:08:29 +0000 UTC]

It would be "du bist ein Nille!" type insult. Of course, it's not insulting if you just talk about it. (sorry about wrong word family, it's been years since I studied german :C)

Wow, I like this a lot! Very cool. I love the thought process that went into the species' natural habitats and stuff. You should do more like this~

I've been redesigning a lot of pokemon actually, I just don't have good enough pictures of my redesigns to actually put here, sadly.
