Description Ever since i first posted this image i was a little bothered with the way i presented it. I spent maybe 10 minutes processing it since i was so excited about it and just wanted to get it out there. I was never quite happy with that quick processing.

The first version can be seen here: [link]

The sky in particular was suffering. It had this kind of "fake" plastic look to it due to my hasty pp.

I also was aware of a major flaw in the composition, the hole in the river was incomplete. Fortunately that could be fixed. With careful cloning in a small area i was able to complete the hole.

I am pleased at this point and i feel that i can give this shot a rest now. I will probably produce a large print of this one..

I would appreciate any feedback to this new version.

Have a nice weekend everyone! I will be spending part of it shooting in the mountains...

Truly unbelievable. Mind blown. The clarity of the light and water with the relfections is special. Hint on exposure? If I could double fav I would

Awesome photo. The reflection of the aurora in the ice makes it to worth a lot more

yes, it is better composition wise. but those twinkling stars in the previous version added some nice touch to it, but this may be more "natural" if we can call it that

yes the stars on the last version added a bit of a "wow" to the shot, but i felt that the dodging i did on the stars was too much and took focus away from what i feel this photo is about; the foreground and its reflections connecting with the aurora in the distance...
