This is a very good artwork! I like how she made it based of a type of dino-like creature! She put the right parts in the right spaces. The scales were quite perfect but she could have improved a little. She knows how it should be and she made it just like that! The claws are pretty good but could be more better. Most of this is perfect! We all possibly know that this is based on a type of dinosaur and this makes sense since it's called 'Bulbasaur' which is either a lizard or dinosaur. These are awesome. You seem a little unsure of yourself (maybe more than most) and you really really shouldn't be so hard on yourself! These are amazing! I went through all of them! You take alot of time and put alot of detail into these that can make them interesting to look at repeatedly and find something new every time! Even if Torchic is just a chicken, lol... They are very well done! Get a little more confidence! These are impressive and if anyone has anything mean to say they are just trolls, ignore them! If anyone finds something you need to work on, most are polite about it and try to help you improve!

Let's get the bad parts out of the way first.
This is really one of many, many, many, many, many, many realistic Pokemon pictures out there. That's why this has a three-star originality rating.
But the reason everything else in this critique is at five is because it TOTALLY DESERVES IT. This picture, and the series of pictures, is amazingly realistic, detailed, and alive. It has beautiful scales, beak, claws, bulb, leaves, teeth, eyes, and everything. You interpreted it very well with the beak and teeth and spots. Not everyone can do something this freaking amazing. Bravo (or brava if you're a girl).

Since Pokemon was first released to the public, the idea of "Pokemon in real life" has always been one that fascinated children and even some adults, because of the strange and quirky designs of these creatures that somehow were able to captivate everyone who would watch the television show or play the games. I myself have always wondered what the world would be like if such creatures were real, and you have adapted Pokemon in such a way that I can imagine these creatures roaming around in the wild, living in their own, different ways. On behalf of all those who have wished to see something like this in real life, I salute you, for making our childhood dreams come true. Thank you.

I joined DeviantART not because I'm an artist, but because of people like this. My first game was Pokémon Blue for the Gameboy Color. it was Purple. The first Game I ever owned. When I saw this beautiful piece of art I felt my eyes water. This is not an artist, but a visionary. I always pulled my hair out deciding between the three starters and while charmander remains my favorite there will always be a place in my heart for Bulbasaure and this visionary has done my childhood justice. The shading, expression, even the texture speaks as if it knows me. The eyes pierce my soul. The dinosaur-esque qualities, suit it just right. This is a glorious piece. Anyone who watched the show, and/or played the games would agree with me and my ratings. My stars are not bought easily, but this certainly deserves it.

I've seen lots of art on Pokemon, but this is just amazing. it really looks as if it could be standing on my doorstep in (what region is Bulbasaur? Hoenn? Kanto? Johto? I've seen many versions of Bulbasaur, but this one is definetely one of my favourites. When I first saw it, it made me gasp. The surprise of a realistic pokemon was delightful. You put so much detail into the picture, that it looks as if it could actually be ready to jump out of the screen. You have managed to make Bulbasaur look entirely realistic, while still keeping the resemblance and capturing that cute factor that Pokemon have. I was thoroughly impressed by this.
For an improvement perhaps you could experiment with a background that fits Bulbasaur. Overall a brilliant piece.

Bulbasaur (Japanese: フシギダネ Fushigidane) is a dual-type Grass/Poison Pokémon.
It evolves into Ivysaur starting at level 16, which evolves into Venusaur starting at level 32.
Along with Charmander and Squirtle, Bulbasaur is one of three starter Pokémon of Kanto available at the beginning of Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, FireRed, and LeafGreen.
Biology
Bulbasaur is a small, quadruped Pokémon with green to bluish-green skin and darker green patches. It has red eyes with white pupils and sclera and pointed, ear-like structure on top of its head. Its snout is short and blunt, and it has a wide mouth. A pair of small, pointed teeth visible in the upper jaw when its mouth is open. Each of its thick legs ends with three sharp claws. On its back is a green plant bulb, which is grown from a seed planted there at birth. The bulb provides it with energy through photosynthesis as well as from the nutrient-rich seeds contained within.
As mentioned in the anime, starter Pokémon are raised by Breeders to be distributed to new Trainers. Having been domesticated from birth, Bulbasaur is regarded as both a rare and well-behaved Pokémon. It is known to be extremely loyal, even after long-term abandonment. Bulbasaur has also shown itself to be an excellent caretaker, even having a special technique called the "Bulba-by." To perform this technique, Bulbasaur uses its vines to pick up a young Pokémon and soothingly rocks the young one in the air.
It is found in grasslands and forests throughout the Kanto region. However, due to Bulbasaur's status as starter Pokémon, it is hard to come by in the wild and generally found under the ownership of a Trainer. It has been observed that a Bulbasaur's bulb will flash blue when it is ready to evolve. If it does not want to evolve, it struggles to resist the transformation. Many Bulbasaur gather every year in a hidden garden in Kanto to become Ivysaur in a ceremony led by a Venusaur.
