Thank you, Mark.
You can...all it takes is the right vista and being there at the right time. Settings on the camera is the technical part, the right scene and time is the hard part.

That and the post photography editing. I will send you an e-mail of the before and after. All I did was adjust the color and tone a bit.

This is beautiful. How did you convince that tree to pose for you?

Thank you!
No idea what that lone pine is doing there. It has been there as long as I can remember and it is the only one for 20 miles around.

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia...?

No...I was on the rim of the Columbia Plateau shooting across the Columbia River valley (where I live) toward the cascades. This was only about 18 miles east of home.

Too young...thatβs rich! Yes I remember John Denver and that song. Hell, Iβm older than you are.
I think maybe your literary/musical reference was a wee bit too obscure. (or maybe it is just my eastern WA mentality)

John Denver? Did that pupster record that song? I was thinking of... more like Laurel & Hardy vintage. [link]

I would never, in my long legged life, have gotten to Laurel & Hardy out of that shot, or a lone pine or a reference to West Virginia. I have never seen that clip before.
The obscurity has now lifted, but damn, dude, that was a deep reach.
note to self: listen more closely to this guy in the future

Thank you. It took a while to figure out how to get behind the tree.
No, still fog and a trace of snow today.
