His gradient isn't starting from nowhere, there are large spots in the corners of his wings and tail that gradient into the background dark grey.

Mod Message: Hey Topaz! We wanna get some new ears drawn on your YCH for this guy, but we found some legality issues with him that will need to be addressed first.
Mouth Notch: Looking like an imp mouth! Make sure to edit that so it looks like a regular defined wyngro mouth!
Tail: Your ribbon tail is not clarified very well and looks like a part of the cape wings. You will need to define the tail so it matches the upgrade art, and is a bit clearer for moderation.
Band Markings: The bands must be one solid color, or spaced out from one another. Up to you what you want to do there!
Gradient: Unfortunately when you applied gradient to the wings:
As per the Gradient upgrade: This adds a gradient between any existing colors your wyngro currently has!
It's simply a bled between two existing placements your gro already has, and all that was there before was solid blue.
You'll need to have a legal placement setup on those wings before applying gradient (nothing overly complicated) and then you can blend them together. I hope that makes sense.
You also seem to shift back and forth between how the pattern on the wings look:
shifting from a vertical gradient to spotty. I'd suggest adding placements like in your ref above, and then blending them. That'll work fine. Just gotta keep it consistent! (these complicated patterns are tough)

I took a stab at correcting what you asked, and by stab I mean I did my best on that initial gradient one. I changed it to the striped look to save on legality issues, fingers crossed

Question tho: is it possible to do one band and then a pinstripe mark over it? That’s what I was trying to achieve.
Whilst on the subject of the swap of gradient! It went from spotted to striped due to legality issues with the spots. A mod had me swap it to stripes to get the breeding rolled. How should I proceed with that? Is it still okay?

For bands-- unfortunately no, as pinstripes can only go around placements, not markings.
Oh nice, sounds good on that regard. The striped pattern works well. Is this ref just outdated? You should be drawing that style going forward. (so this image will need to be adjusted)
Could you also just do me a favor and use an arrow to point to the most current design for this stuff? It's just easier to visually see what you're changing to.

Alright, so the problem with this spotty gradient is that you ca't really do "placements" like that. Those are getting into marking territory. Spots!
Especially since a mod had you change it for a breeding-- that basically means it needs to be changed for legality purposes. It's not a thing you temporarily change just for a breeding, ya know?
I know you're going for a cool space look, but it's unfortunately just gearing too far into complexity of colors. (Goes for the tail as well) Because essentially you're blending gradients on markings at this point.

Alright! Totally understandable! I tried making The splotches larger sobit wasn’t quite spots, would that be something I’m able to do or should I scrap it? The tail is gettin a little spotty, I do agree. Again I’m sorry if he or I are being a pain 😂
Would my attempt at his wings be plausible or should I go back to the stripes?

Mind the weird edit haha. But this is about the maximum you'd be able to do in terms of gradient like that. Tail would have to be thick striped gradient just because there's not a lot of surface to it.
If you want my humble opinion, I'd honestly just rip the cape wings off and give him an actual cape. That way it can look like whatever you want haha.

ALSO: You have pinstripes unlocked as well, correct? I've been told by the other mods that pinstripes needs to be listed as an upgrade as well if you want to have the separation of the two colors on the body like that. (And because they're so thin)

I went with the wing pattern you suggested and kept the striped pattern on his tail.
I did have pinstripes but I removed them from the image cause I thought I had to remove them cause of his stripes but I have readded them! Please let me know if there is anything else that needs fixing!
