Background:
- Nobuo was a late son of Sasuke Sarutobi, a renown ninja of those times. Nobuo had an older brother, Hiruzen, who was older than him by 17 years.
- As a child, he was quite out-going and made friends pretty easily. He befriended his brother's team, who first thought Nobuo was actually Hiruzen's son. They remain in a good relationship to this day (except Orochimaru).
- The first person he truly opened up to was his future wife Amaya whom he really cherishes and cares about.
Personality:
- Although Nobuo is generally light-hearted and gregarious, he can be very serious in a demanding situation.
- He's always looked up to his older brother, Hiruzen. His main motivation for becoming a shinobi was to prove his brother and father that he could be just as strong as brother.
- Unfortunately, Nobuo wasn't as skilled as Hiruzen. He had to work really hard to make even a little progress.
- He's appeared to be quite tactless at times.
- He is a very caring individual to his family and is basically his family's emotional support(?). Nobuo is without a doubt the family's head despite Amaya being the clan's head. Everyone always listens to what he has to say and has huge respect for him.
- He spent more of his time focusing on his older sons' development compared to his younger sons', shifting the responsibility on Ryota (although he tried to make up for it later). And still his sons, both the older and the younger, didn't receive enough of his support, care and parental love mostly due to his inability to find the right approach this his sons when they're feeling down.
Abilities:
- Nobuo has advanced skills in taijutsu, average skills in ninjutsu and almost no skill for genjutsu. He is usually seen using the Sarutobi clan's hidden ninjutsu.
- Nobuo can serve as a leader, if the situation asks for it, and can quickly work out a plan.
