Description Nothing special this time. Just a classical scene like my older image "The Ring" only with a different attempt for the ring this time. Not planned as wallpaper this time but it is included as little extra to the premium content download. The download contains 20 HD wallpaper + Windows 7 themefile.

I hope you enjoy it!

Well this is my first review and the only thing I will point out in this picture is exaggerated feeling of vastness that is the ship flying through rings. For a ship reflects light like that on ice rocks that create the ring this should be a very big ship and that takes away a bit of realism in my opinion. Putting reference to Saturn, note that this is a giant planet and the separation between the rocks is much believe it or not. It would be good to try to do a little research on astronomy in order to make a good drawing of Sci Fi. Best Sci Fi is that it looks more realistic and less fanciful is.
So far it is the most beautiful drawing on a ringed planet I've seen I think. I like the idea of the ship and the lights you used, but remember the dimensions.

Among "the force be with you" and "peace and prosperity" I prefer "in space no one can hear you scream."

Sorry for my English.

disagree with your 2/5 rating, I personally see this piece pretty decent, 2.5/5
I think the piece is absolutely striking and I like him keeping the spaceship tiny gives the emphases on the vastness, but I would like more detail on the planet, and the background could had been made more realistic, cause it looks too much like clouds and not space dust, but then again, I like this piece, I still think its pretty decent so I give 2.5/5

I have to say that this critique seems a bit harsh to me. It seems that your only problem with the image is the apparent size of the ship flying over the rings, which you deem to be unrealistic in and of itself. There are no very large spaceships in scifi?

Considering the fact that the only aspect of the image that you mention is that one issue, I have no idea what your basis was for the star ratings you gave (though, to be fair, the criteria that are represented by the star rating system are often unsuited for most images).

I understand, but also understand that we are talking of huge dimensions. It is true that there is no sizes in science fiction, the Death Star is an example but this is a space station, not a ship, star wars also not the kind of realistic science fiction I like to see and I insist that ship is too big to generate that kind of reflection. It is a criticism since the author has required.

The star is the score I give because I have other vision and details. We are not all equal. It's a great drawing, I could not do yet.

sorry for my English

I understand that, and respect your opinion. I just feel that something so personal doesn't really have a place in an artistic critique, and that it may have been more appropriate as a regular comment.

I mean, you didn't seem to have any complaints about the image other than one element of content, but your rating was pretty low. That makes it look like your rating was based entirely on that one element of the image, which seems unfair to me.

CrisRaidanArt In reply to bloknayrb [2012-11-08 17:29:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, now that I realize you're right on the part where I clarify the kind of science fiction I like to see, but it was a detail that adds nothing more. My criticism is that, on that particular point. And the subject of scores will seem unfair, but the issue is simple, it is a cute picture to see and appreciate, but once I get more details emerged that point which makes the image for me, lose some attraction.

I understand. I only said something because if I had been the one to get a critique like that it wouldn't really mean anything to me. Since it was your first critique, I figured I'd say something.

I actually would like to believe that there could be a ship the size of Pennsylvania.

Great perpective, dimming the sun with dust or clouds will help i guess there is to much interesting around, but the sun wants all focus on it

These rings do feel a bit more natural and Saturn-like. Smaller lumps of rock helps make the rings themselves seem bigger. The reflection of the spaceship trail on them was a nice feature too

Beautiful image. There is a story waiting to be written here.
"ring-skaters" the frontier types that mine the rings and the age old tale of triumph over adversity - which essentially is solo mental wrestling match you only lose when you give up.
This is why I watch you.
