The purplish-blue of the seed pod is gorgeous and the orange at the top makes a wonderful contrast. Is the color digitally enhanced in some way? In most pictures of opium plants I've seen the pod is a bright green.
How can such a beautiful plant have caused so much misery for the last 500 years. Poisoning the Qing Dynasty, Opium Wars, heroin production, and now a drug war is moving into Afghanistan on top of an insurgency and a war on terror.
Shit. Cant it just be a nice looking plant?

First of all thank you very much and yes the color is enhanced but not as much as you might think also the pod is in fact green but is coverd with some kind of whiteish dust or something like that could be some kind of fungi.
