There is a movement to hunt foxes, but to never kill them. Β You let them escape. Β Fox hunting started back in the day when ducks and geese were kept on the common, a plot of land set aside by a lord for the local village to use in exchange for a fee. Β Part of the unwritten agreement was that the lord keep it free of wolves, foxes and other predators. Β This is, of course, no longer the case and areas with no foxes have an abundance of pests like rabbits.Β
