The black lines on the shark pup is a bit distracting with how dark they are compared to the rest of the body. You could fix that by making parts of the lines consistent with the lighting on the body.

This may sound a bit strange, but the surface of the water seems a bit too detailed. I feel like the more simplistic style of the shark pup and the detailed water surface don't blend in a way that makes it look like they're in the same environment. Maybe a more simple design for the water would make the image more consistent.

I'm wondering why the pup's mouth is split off at the end there. I don't know if it's an error you overlooked or if it was a design choice, but either way it's a bit odd to me.

I think the overall design of the pup is pleasant to look at. The colors fit well together and I don't see any problems with proportions. I also find that the shark-like patterns on the fur were a nice touch. The lighting and the faded background gives it a nice atmosphere, in my opinion. There are improvements to be made, but you've done a pretty stellar job in my eyes.

The first thing I noticed is how unique the subject of this piece is. It's extremely cute and I haven't seen anything like it. The coloring matches its aquatic features and the prints do as well. The lighting on the the creatures (mermaid dog?) make it look like it's truly under water. One thing that you may want to work on is with the black lines. They are in a way harsh at some points and distort the depth perception. I recommend lightening some parts of it into a light grey to prevent it from looking flat and to match the rest of the art. Otherwise, great job!

What a cute creature!! I absolutely love underwater scenes so I just had to comment when I saw it on ProjectComment !

The proportions are great, the posing and angle are very dynamic, and the background, while simple enough, is pleasant and believable ^^

The first thing I notice is that the image lacks some value contrast. I like to look at my own pics in black and white occasionally to see contrast (or lack thereof) more easily, and this image does not use much brightness. I understand underwater scenes tend to be darker, but considering how close to the surface he is, I think you could get away with bumping up the brightness and adding a few more highlights on him ^^

Secondly, while the anatomy is pretty much spot on, I’m not sure I understand the mouth. It might just be the design, but seeing as the face is very dog-like, the angle seemed wrong to me considering we’re seeing the face at a bit of a low angle.

Last thing, while it’s obvious that he’s underwater, the underwater feel could be enhanced by adding a bit of blue overtop the paws that are far away like you’ve done on the background elements. You could potentially add a few bubbles to add to the background, but that’s not a necessity. It’s overall a very well-detailed image showcasing an interesting creature. The posing and highlights give it a cute, pleasant mood despite the dark blue surroundings. And the anatomy is quite good especially for such a difficult subject! Great work!

I Have to be truthfull, I don't know what to think about the character, he looks really cute and nice, and I would love to be in front of him, and give him a big hug, but, at the same time, I would be scared to get closer to him. Is he friendly? Or would bite me if he saw me?
