Description Totoro! Or O-totoro.. or Big Totoro...

It was a total nuisance trying to get his colours right because I swear, there's not a single two Totoro pics out there with the same colour scheme!
(The 'boomerangs' on his chest are individualy sculpted as well as painted -much like everything else, now that I think about it.)


Ever since I watched that movie (Tonari no Totoro) I've wanted a Totoro figurine, but

1. I couldn't find one near me
2. Most of them had the BIG mouth, or were in a pose I didn't like, or were joined onto something else

So this is kinda the reason why I got myself some Super Sculpey.

There are no Totoro figurines here but there are many plushies, and all of them are out of shape!><

So here, I finally got a Totoro in good shape. I particularly made sure the side view was good.
Unlike the plushies where his face is totally flat with a nose stuck somewhere on it..... =_=

Yes, they all have a special nostalgic feeling. But I like this one because it's cute, funny, and there's no goodie-vs-baddie storyline

Thanks! Hmm...I used this stuff out of a bottle mum labelled "acrylic gloss medium & varnish". And apparently the finish is flexible. At first it's a bit sticky though, which it isn't anymore but I don't know if that's because lots of invisible dust particles have stuck themselves on or something

Wow! You've done a beautiful job of making you own Totoro. This is actually much nicer than most of the sculptures I've seen and they were all really expensive, too, which is why I don't own one. Fantastic!
