I really need to stop reading the description and comment sections on DA, it really makes me concerned for the future of not only the USA but the whole world as well when people see President Trump as the villain. Seriously people the leaders of N. Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti (just to name a few) are true dictators who don't care one iota about their citizens. I know that my comment here will be hated by a good number of people viewing this pic but I had to say something.

Saying he isn't a bad guy because Kim Jong Un is a thing is like saying Lex Luthor isn't a bad guy because the Joker is a thing.
Just because there's someone worse out there, doesn't make anything that man has said or done even remotely acceptable.
This logic is as fundamentally stupid as my own unfortunate country's government's "If we don't sell weapons to terrorists, someone else will, so we might as well" thought process.

I don't want to get in a shouting match with you, we both know that neither of us will be able to get the other to change their mind. I do have a question though, what has President Trump done since his inauguration that is so bad? I truly want to know because when I ask people that I know the same question they can never give me a specific answer.

His comparing Anti-fascist protesters to actual Nazis was a gross display of incompetence and poor judgement.
His constant (hypocritical) blustering with North Korea is very likely to lead to disaster.
Cutting funding to the EPA is a hilariously short-sighted move that will have long-term consequences for the entire planet.
His constant efforts to dismantle what little healthcare system America has, leaving thousands unable to afford basic medical procedures and creating a system where you can literally be too poor to live.
The travel ban which left thousands of people with legitimate business in America stranded, because of their ethnicity and religion.
I could go on.
The fucking KKK have repeatedly spoken out in support of him. That, alone, should be enough.

You're far more eloquent in stating your examples than I could ever hope to be, I'm one of those people who knows what he wants to say but can never quite say or write it as clearly as he would like to but I'll try.
President Trump never compared Antifa to Nazis, all he stated was that the rioting in Charlottesville was caused by violent people on both sides not just strictly by the white supremacists. Heck recent events at Berkley have proven his statement that Antifa is a violent organization to be correct, otherwise the college wouldn't have had to shell out $600,000 for security measures simply because they didn't like who was going to be speaking at the college.
The last 3 American Presidents attempted to appease the North Korean government by giving them supplies that they demanded in return for ceasing their ICBM and nuclear weapons programs. Obviously that didn't work or we wouldn't be in this situation, so whats wrong with changing the strategy? You can't keep giving in to dictators the only thing they understand is power, the free nations of the world need to stand up against them. We need to be more like Churchill not Chamberlain.
Honestly I think that it is the height of human arrogance to think that what little effect that we have in the world's ecosystem could actually have terrible ramifications for our planet. I do believe that we have an effect on the environment but it is so minuscule that there isn't anything to worry about.
As someone who is on Obamacare I will be extremely delighted when it's finally repealed. I'll admit that Obamacare has helped me, I'm unable to work do to a medical condition that I've had since I was 8 years old and the Obamacare system has paid for my medical bills, but that doesn't mean that it's right. Why should a family in Arizona pay for my medical needs? The answer is that they shouldn't, I'm the one who should be responsible not people who don't even know me.
I'll grant you that the roll out of the travel ban was atrocious, when people on the ground are receiving conflicting orders its obvious that something has gone horribly wrong. That said, what is so wrong with temporarily halting the entry of people from certain countries until we can determine with 100% certainty that a person who requests entry into our country is who that they say that they are? This ban was never going to be a permanent thing, it was only going to be in place for 4 months until we could a system in place to properly vet people from these countries. As a side note, the list of countries that were included in this ban was actually put together by the Obama Administration, not by President Trump or his people.
Sure the KKK have come out in support of President Trump I'll admit that, but an equally vile group of people known as Black Lives Matter have supported former President Obama in the past. Just because a group comes out in support of a person doesn't mean that said person agrees with what the group stands for.
I apologize if what I've written doesn't come through as clearly as I would like to, but as I said earlier I'm not good at writing down what I want to say as well as I'd like to.

"There was violence from both sides"
Yes. But only one side of the Charlottesville situation decided to murder someone with a car, just for exercising her constitutional right to free speech and public protest.
I also hate how people say "Anti-fascist" like it's a bad thing. Fascists are dictators and Nazis. We SHOULD be Anti-fascist, as human beings. Fascists are bad. If you're not Anti-fascist, there's something wrong.
Why shouldn't North Korea have nuclear weapons?
America has hundreds of them. And has been responsible for MANY more deaths across the globe, throughout history.
(of course, this whole argument is moot, since I firmly believe that NOBODY should have nuclear weapons. At all. Even beyond them being instruments of mass-murder, they're totally redundant in the modern world. Nobody is ever going to use them, and we should all stop making threats we have no intention of ever following through with.)
We...have a fairly significant impact on the planet.
Like, say, cutting down hundreds of thousands of miles of rainforest every month. We're already seeing the affects of climate change like, say, the worst hurricane season of all time...
Fun fact: every other country in the western world has nationalised healthcare. America is the ONLY one that doesn't.
And it's not that you don't pay for it: you do, just through taxes throughout your lifetime.
You've probably heard of instances of people starting Kickstarter and GoFundMe campaigns for medical procedures... Well, it's just that, but it benefits everyone.
The Affordable Healthcare Act was nowhere near perfect (mainly due to all the amendments that had to be made just to get it through Congress), but it was a big step in the right direction.
In the UK, the very idea of dismantling our national healthcare system is outrageous. Same goes for most of Europe.
It's just... Odd, to imagine people who have benefited from it, WANTING to take that away from themselves, and everyone like them (or even worse off than them)
Four months is one HELL of a long time to be stranded away from your home, family and job.
If you'd gone on holiday, or volunteering or something, for the weekend, or for a week off from work, and we're expected back in the office on Monday? You were screwed.
Mixed in with the longstanding institutional racism in police and border control (not exclusive to America, but definitely more noticeable there), it was a recipe for disaster.
Also, Muslims are the main victims of ISIS. At this point, they had not killed a single American on American soil.
I accept that, as a president, he has no control over who comes out in favour of him. There's nothing to stop, say, a child molester saying "I support president Trump!"
But he had every opportunity to come back with "I do not agree with what this person stands for" or "I am appalled by the beliefs of these people and urge them to stop"
But he didn't.

Well I do thank you for not simply calling me a bigot and racist (you have no idea how many times I've tried to have a civil political discussion with people on the Internet, by this point all of them had fallen back on typical leftist rhetoric.)
I'm glad that the health care system in the UK works for you, something tells me that the parents of Charlie Gard wouldn't come out in support of British Health care. Nationalized health care might work for many nations the problem is that Obamacare was designed to fail (surprise surprise in a years time there won't any insurance companies left in America.) The end goal of the Obamacare system was to literally collapse so that we'd be forced into a single payer system that the majority of Americans don't want. There is something really wrong with a systems that penalizes people for not buying health insurance, but believe it or not it is actually cheaper to pay the penalty than it is to have an insurance plan.
I agree that the world would be better off without nuclear weapon, but would you really want the UK to dismantle its nuclear arsenal when there are two dictatorships out there trying to build nuclear ICBMs that have stated that there goal is the complete obliteration of western society?
If the ban (I really hate calling it that because because its not a ban) had been implemented we would have had the vetting system in place by now. We have the right to control who comes into our country and don't try to convince me that we should have open borders and allow anyone who wants to enter to come in. We already no that terrorists have used the refugee system to sneak into the country, if you don't believe me just ask students at Ohio State University when a Somali refugee attempted to kill people by running them over with a car and then attacked people with a knife (thankfully the only fatality in the attack was that loser of a terrorist.) Why is it so wrong for a nation to implement an immigration system that guarantees that only good people who will respect that nation's laws are allowed to enter?
BTW, ISIS has claimed responsibility for numerous attacks in America including the attack at OSU.
Say what you want about whether or not President Trump needs to be more specific when he has said that white supremacists have no place in American society, at least his political party wasn't responsible for forming the KKK (the founding members were Democrats,) add to that the Democrat Party for 60 years they had a sitting member in Congress who was also a member of the KKK (Robert Bryd.)
I do have an honest question for you since it's something that I clearly don't understand, why does the media claim that Neo-Nazis a
re a part of the conservative movement. The Nazi party was made up of socialist ( the party's true name was the National Socialist German Workers' Party,) the only main political party in America that aligns itself with socialists beliefs are people on the Left, aka Democrats.
Obviously our political views are vastly different, but I wanted to let you know that I'm having fun with this discussion. It's been a long time since I've been able to have a civil conversation about politics on the Internet.

You haven't said anything bigoted or racist. Yet.
And, hey, as soon as anyone does end up resorting to petty namecalling, or belittling someone because of their gender or race or religion, the discussion is over and they've lost.
Like I said, it's the system used by the majority of the developed world. Heck, it works fine for Canada!
We don't have health insurance. At all. We just go to a hospital, a doctor looks at us, sees what we need, and does it. If an ambulance gets called to you because you've been stabbed, it will just pick you up and start treating you, no questions asked, no insurance needed.
I genuinely just don't get America's weird fear of Single Payer Healthcare. Up until the current UK government and their idiotic philosophy of 'cut money to everything but expect them to maintain the same level of service', it worked fine for us. It works fine for all of Europe. The problems with the NHS are all down to budget constraints, and that's all down to the government wanting it to fail. But if we were to, say, take all the money we're currently wasting on nukes and pump it into healthcare...
And...Yes.
The nuclear argument is one of mutually assured destruction. So long as we've got these, nobody can nuke us, because we'd nuke them back, and it would be the literal end of the world as we know it.
But military deterrents don't work. That was the whole reason the Axis and Allied powers formed, and all that did was escalate the conflict to the point where it consumed all of Europe and a good chunk of Asia and the Americas.
Stockpiling these weapons doesn't do anything. The main threat we face today isn't a nation, or a group of nations, it's a group of individuals who already live amongst us, are indoctrinated via the internet and various hate preachers, and don't require any supply lines or special training to do their job, they just need a knife or a gun or a car. Nukes aren't doing anything to stop them.
In the UK, one of our most controversial issues is Trident, a nuclear submarine we have floating around the world, designed to be our first response. It's also hilariously obsolete, with computers that've been outdated since the 80's, and the whole reason we have it is so we can literally never, ever, ever use it.
Let's face it; if we really wanted to stop North Korea, the CIA could have done it by now, via assassins, or bombs, or many, many other things that don't involve incinerating hundreds of thousands of innocents and dumping a radioactive cloud across the whole region. North Korea doesn't have a power structure, or a hierarchy of leadership, it's just one guy. One bullet would do the job.
Like the Phantom Menace, when they blow up the command ship and all the federation battledroids just stop.
Let's be honest, if we're using them, it's either a pre-emptive strike (murder) or it's retaliation (at which point, we're already doomed to burn in nuclear fire). Either way, I want nothing to do with it. Either we are just outright murdering hundreds of thousands of people, which, c'mon, everyone must see that as being wrong, or I'm already dead, in which case I honestly don't care and it's kinda just spiteful to think "well, if we're gonna die, then everyone else is gonna die with us!"
Daesh may have claimed responsibility, but I always wonder, does that necessarily mean they are responsible?
Let's face it, if you wanted to terrify people, you'd say you were behind every little thing you could take credit for. One man decides to shoot up a nightclub? Yep, he was with us. A bunch of people build a bomb? Yep, they were ours. A guy takes a truck and drives it through a crowd? Aye, he was our boy! The eclipse? Yeah, we've found a way to put out the sun! FEAR US!
In pretty much every single instance, the person responsible is killed, either by the police or themselves. They can't exactly come out and say "hey, actually, no, it was just me. I'm just one guy who hates homosexuals, or France, or whatever. Not anything to do with these guys."
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that throughout history the Republicans have always been the bad guys. Lincoln did great things, and I agree with the philosophy of a republic (meaning no monarchy), but I also strongly believe that, if Lincoln saw the state of the Republican party today, he would weep.
One thing I hope we can agree on is that the status quo right now just isn't working. Western economies are collapsing left and right, homelessness and unemployment are higher than ever, happiness and satisfaction are at their lowest for nearly a hundred years, and for the first time since the Victorian era (in the UK at least) the gap in life expectancy between high-income families and low-income families is getting bigger.
Centre politics is all about compromise, and fighting anything that would radically change the way things are. But what we need right now is a radical change.
America, in its last election, hit an unfortunate point that British politics hit a few years prior, where the main two parties were essentially identical. Hillary wanted to keep things as they were. The majority of the Republican party wanted to keep things as they were.
People want change. And, unfortunately, Mr. Trump was the candidate who was promising something fresh.
There is a BIG difference between Nazis and Socialists. Socialists believe, fundamentally, that everyone should look after each other. That's it. And, yes, the Nazi party's economics did go down that route (and, to be fair, before the war broke out, the Nazi government worked wonders for Germany's economy). Their social policies, however, were most definitely not socialist. Death camps, that ain't socialist. Racial supremacy, that ain't socialist. In fact, the mere notion that anybody is inherently better or worse than anyone is the exact opposite of socialist belief.
I always quite enjoy political discussions!
Studied it in college because it interested me, still does, and it's always quite fun to chat about it.

Oh my word if I were to to attempt to write a response as long as yours I'd be sitting at my computer all day long.
To tell you the truth I pretty much agree with everything that you said. I think that the reasons why some Americans are afraid of a single payer health care system is that they're worried that the level of care that we have would become worse than than the level of care that we had in our old free market system. We might be completely wrong about that, but I myself have heard horror stories regarding countries with national health care systems, for example having to wait 6 months to see a doctor regarding a life threating condition, the elderly being denied care simply because they won't be around much longer anyways. Actually now that I think our VA systems has those very same problems.
You're right, the odds of ISIS actually be responsible for the lone wolf attacks across the world is not very high. Most likely ISIS is just trying to make it seem that they're more of a threat than they currently are.
As someone who tends to vote Republican I say say with absolute certainty that you are correct, as it currently stands the party is a sham, they no longer stand for anything. Republican leaders in DC are out for themselves, I may not usually agree with Democrats but at least they know how to stand together in order to accomplish their party's goal.
A few weeks back when N. Korea threatened to launch some mock ICBMs at Guam I was worried that we were only a few steps away from going to war against them. I don't know if simply taking out Kim Jong Un would take care of the situation at hand, some people would argue that the devil you know is better than the one that you don't. As a side note I'm not sure if the CIA would be capable carrying out a successful mission in North Korea, the Bay of Pigs fiasco while being a long time ago doesn't instill much confidence in the organization. I hoe that it doesn't come to war, while why some wars may need to be fought nobody should actually want to wage war.
I wish that I had the capability to state my point of view as clearly that you have (you've actually convinced me to reexamine my opinions on a few topics.) I'm sorry if I came out as being rude in my initial post, I truly thank you for having this conversation with me.

The Onpyh in Ubergirl's stories and the Onpyh in my little hypnosis RP starters are two very different beasts.
In Ubergirl's adventures, literally the only time they actually exert any influence over the masses is to protect the identities of their sponsored heroines: hence, anyone who finds out Ubergirl's secret identity who she didn't tell of her own free will instantly forgets.
Other than that, they do lace their products and adverts with subliminals, but just to make people want to buy their stuff, and to enjoy their shows and gadgets more... No worse than any real world corporations
Sure, Onpyh openly trade in mind control. But they're NOT an evil mind controlling corporate overlord.
Whereas Mister Rump, well... Racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc... He's pretty damn evil.

Yesterday, after Trump melted down during his first solo press conference, he released a survey to supporters on his mailing list called the "Mainstream Media Accountability Survey" which featured questions like "Do you believe that the mainstream media does not do their due diligrence fact-checking before publishing stories on the Trump administration?" and "Were you aware that a poll was released revealing that a majority of Americans actually supported President Trump's temporary restriction executive order?" It doesn't take a political science major to realize how fucking creepy it is for ANY world leader to realease a survey that doubles as a passive aggressive attack on the media which, after the Republican chairman of the Congressional Oversight Committee declined to investigate the contact Trump's campaign had with Russia while the DNC was being hacked, it's becoming clearer every day that the media is the only check left in place to protect American sovereignty from an actual dictator.
But! Where this story is relevant to yours is that psychologists analyzed the poll and found that the language was aimed specifically toward rallying Trump's base. Referring to his administration as "our movement" makes Trump supporters feel like they're a part of something special, and it only forces them to cling harder to the hateful ideals that led to this presidency. Does that sound like mind control? It kind of does to me.
Anyway, I'm digging this series so far, even though it kind of hurts my soul. Still, interesting to find political satire in this place!

You say that, but there are just as many examples of civil disobedience being a very good thing: the Berlin Wall, for example.
EVERYTHING IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT AWESOME.
Ah! UK networks, I'm a couple of episodes behind! Spoiler warnings!
I... Am very pro choice.
You say it like it's a very easy decision for everyone, like getting your hair cut or something, when in reality most women DO inevitably bond with this thing that lives inside them for a while and has the potential to become a baby. For most people, it's the most heartbreaking decision they'll ever make. (again, there are always exceptions)
But if you know it's going to be born dead, or with a disability so severe its life wouldn't be worth living, or if you just honestly don't believe you'd be able to take care of it and give it the quality of life it deserves, then it's better to deal with it before it is alive and capable of feeling pain.

The only violence I recall from that event was from the soviet side of the wall and also many would argue that the Boston massacre was a good thing despite the casualties as well. My point is that whatever point is trying to be made is usually disregarded or ends with people being killed when they resort to violence.
To use your Berlin Wall example again the soviet side used high powered hoses to prevent people from climbing it, forcing them off and hurt a great deal of people. Then if by some miracle you do make it to the other side BUT was caught there's a good chance that you would have been inprisoned or even executed. So tell me; which side was more violent and which side lost?
XD
Actually I have a website you can go to so you can see the shows shortly after they air. So if you don't mind sorting through the pop up ads (none of which has given me a virus yet) or don't feel like it's morally compromising, I can give you the address. You could even tease your Brit friends who also watched the show with spoilers
Completely not the point I was trying to make. My point is that my view point isn't wrong but when I say it it makes me seem like an asshole who disrespects women (what I do on this site doesn't necessarily help my case in that regard XP). I completely understand the personal conflict that comes with doing this; the child will kill you during childbirth, it's a product of rape, it'll be deformed, all good reasons to want an abortion and I agree with the women who decide to get an abortion in this case. HOWEVER if you, a 17 year old girl for example, feel like you aren't ready to have a child and instead of giving it up for adoption you decide to end the process, to me that's not alright.
So I ask again for the point of my original argument; does this viewpoint make me a bible thumping bull headed asshole? In today's society you can't talk about things like this without people assuming this about you and it silences so many voices and denies so many viewpoints and as a result it prevents so many solutions and compromises to be found between the two sides. For all I know there could even be a third side that everyone would agree upon without any hesitation. Hell, I side with a political party called the "libitarian party" which fights for as limited government control as possible and has arguments that a majority of people from both republican and democrat sides would agree with. They're antigovernment hippies!' A valid viewpoint denied once again because its politically incorrect to talk about politics...
