Description -with the passing of Frank Frazetta on Monday I wanted to share one of my favorite pieces that he did, not as detailed and complex as some of his better known works but "Silver Warrior"(1972) ranks right up there in my top 5 favorite Frazetta creations.

It's a great piece indeed.
Frazetta is probably the person most responsible for me entering the art field as a life-long career. I never matched his work, but I have had a few nice illos!

the late great Frazetta has influenced many a young artist including yours truly...still have some of the old original art folios that they put out in the 70's.
He was great at dramatic anatomy and posing "staging" scenes and situations was his specialty.

Polar bear sled is epic. Frazetta is truly a genius.

looking back at it through more experienced eyes now I think the Polar Bears are a bit small, they are amongst the largest bears in the world, but then again I am not about to second guess "the Master", maybe they are young bears...And yeas the sled design is awesome and of course the pose.

Maybe the bears aren't small, but the guy on the sled is just that huge.

I mainly put my own work up, but oh so rarely I'll post yp other artists work that have inspired me over the years...Frazetta was a big inspiration to me along with some other notable artists that have passed on like John Buscema, and George Tuska just to name some recent artists that we have lost recently...also Dick Giordano earlier this year.
I do this in remembrance and to celebrate his body of work...nothing more!
