Description
Interesting that I uploaded my first WoF painting was also in April of a couple years ago...
Anyway, I had this idea in my mind for months, or a year or two, to make a Qibli painting to go with the other two I've done so far. Actually, it goes more with another that I'll upload (hopefully) sometime soon. I'd like to upload once a week, but we'll see...
I had this almost finished at one point with a different background, sand hills, and facial features, then decided to completely redo that part -- not that you'd know. I originally wanted more of a sunset picture, like a scene from where I'm at right now (scrubby plants, and cacti, no sand though...), but decided the colors didn't work out. And the city down at the bottom left could be any of the places located in the Sand Kingdom...Maybe Scorpion Den, I don't know.
I know he's supposed to have black eyes like all SandWings, but I added a little color -- hard to make black eyes look alive without extra reflections. Might be hard to see the freckles, and I kept changing the scar, trying to follow the descriptions in the books. Took artistic liberty with the ridge-mane whatever that goes from forehead to tail along the back. Tried to give him a sheepish/mischievous grin, but whatever. Trying to make him pale yellow was a bit hard, so he probably look more yellow than he should.
Yeah, didn't turn out like I hoped (I feel the anatomy's off a bit), but whatever. I'm currently slowly re-reading arc two at the moment (on one of my faves, Talons of Power), so decided to finally upload while I felt like it.
Did this sometime late last year after it was cool enough to paint again, hence the faint '23 watermark.
---------------
I don't know if anyone would like this picture enough to do so, but if you wanted to use it for something (YouTube
vids, sharing on another site, etc.), I would prefer if you asked first (only so I'm aware of it), but at the very least, just give credit to Sunsphynx (my username here) or link it to here. Same goes for any other WoF pictures in case I forget to add this to the descriptions.
