To head off any political arguments at the pass: For those of us who hail from European countries and maybe feel a bit uncomfortable about this guy, these comics are very much a product of their time, but whether you do or don't approve of the jingoistic Nazi-punching shenanigans of early Captain America, most of the stories were drawn by Kirby and are worth taking a look at for the artwork alone.

Oh ho ho! C2 punching C1? I would have to make that a two panel to show C1's response since C1 is the girl! This should be... challenging... I don't like showing girls getting hit by guys...

Kirby was a god.

Funny story there: A little while before starting VF I actually attended a few sessions of a local "how to draw comics" evening class. Boy was that a mistake. Group discussion one night and I happened to mention Kirby. Blank looks. "Marvel? Iron Man? Captain America?" And then there were sneers and a sort of general vibe of "oh we don't read that sort of comic here". All they cared about was avant-garde indie stuff, which can be awesome too, but still. I'm honestly not fond of cape comics myself but the idea of a whole group of people who claim to be interested in comics just flatly refusing to even consider one of the most prolific American comics artists of all time... boggles my mind.

tl;dr Kirby don't get no academic respect.

Welcome to the club; that opinion seems so... ridiculous... and I bet they arrrive home to watch "The Flash"

Perhaps for some, Kirby's style (visually at least) hadn't the appeal of, let's say, a Mark Bagley but the undeniable fact is that he is one of the most influential figures in comics history. Besides, avant-garde has its roots in artists like Jack Kirby.

Would it be acceptable to swap around the characters in no. 3, it would be veryΒ OCC for my C2 to punch C1 (he's essentially her father figure, and he's quite pacifistic)

Ordinarily I'd say no, but it sounds like there'd be unwholesome ramifications for your guys if the puncher is the father figure. Swap 'em if it makes you uncomfortable.
