What a cute little fellow! Hedgehods are so adorable and he has just such a beautiful world you've painted him there!
On a sidenote, maybe you could improve on the image quality, it looks like there are some artifacts from scanning there.
Maybe photographing works better, not sure what you've at hand!

I struggle getting a decent pic. I use a camera, but I find it gives to much detail, like its been magnified and so looks grainier than the painting does. I have tried so many different things. I found when I tried a scanner in the past it was even worse.

Hm, I guess you use a point-and-shot then?
Did you maybe use the digital zoom to photograph this image? Because I think that's where the grain is coming from.
Zooming digitally on camera should be avoided if possible, since it often creates this grainy effect. Better use the optical zoom or crop it later on the computer.
It's not really a problem with most of your other pictures, just this one has this kind of grain I mean ^^
But yes, I can also see what you mean by the other grain, created by the paper structure showing in the photo. Not sure how to fix this though.

Some photos seem to be worse than others. Some are digtally zoomed to a degree. I take a few photos in different ways and pick the best from them. I will stay away from digitally zooming from now on for sure
Yeah the paper is a problem also, the cold pressed paintings always look a lot worse than the hot pressed. Though there is still some grain with the one I use. A real nuisance.
