April 26, 2013: Goldie has passed away. She was found lying under the shade of several young trees one misty spring morning; Dr. Nodrey has determined that she died of natural causes in her old age. She will be sorely missed.

The second of two fine purchases from *WoozleT ! This is Heritage, who bred to our previously-owned American Cream Draft stallion "Captain" a while back. We've recently been allowed to take her on, and we're naturally very pleased.

Build: Now that she's in her late teens and more or less retired from excessively stressful competition, this mare's musculature has more or less wasted away. Even fat as a hippopotamus, it's easy to see the strong bones and correct structure beneath all the wobbly bits. She has hooves the size of dinner plates and a skull to match, but the rest of her bones are just as thick, so it's alright. A strong haunch could propel her like a freight train if she chose to put it to such use (unlikely); her shoulder could be stronger, but it provides a smooth ride nonetheless. She is certainly a mare of substance!
Temperament: She is aging, but even in her youth Goldie was a sweet mare. She's always had the sort of classically drafty temperament: a gentle giant, an old soul, a kindred spirit to everyone, through and through. She doesn't always like to do things, but she's very eager to please and to avoid conflict, so with enough cajoling and encouragement she'll do just about anything once. She's the type of mare we like to put children and timid beginners on, just because we're so sure of her quietness.
