try writing something that will never get published. If you don't care that it stinks, it'll be easier to write. I get stymied when I think about it being good enough instead of just enjoying it for what it is.

I learned about Terryl Whitlatch through Stephanie Lostimolo, who I guess helped with digital coloring on The Katurran Odyssey. Lostimolo's art is pretty neat!

Yeah, I've seen Lostimolo's stuff too, though she doesn't seem to be super active (at least in the places I'm looking) anymore. Do you know if there's some new nook in the internet where she's got more recent stuff?

I've kept this hanging around in my updates just so I could keep coming back to look at it. I love the choice of color palette, the warm stone in the background against the blue sky. The way you've composed this piece is excellent - everything draws my eye down to the performers at the fire, which I believe is the point. But there's so many things to look at! All the intermixed species taking in the show, and the masks and instrument. I love your species designs, too. This echoes for me back to the Firebringer Trilogy, when Tek performed the Lay of the Unicorns, but really... it's more like a glimpse into the future. That maybe someday gryphons and unicorns performed together.
Man, just so, so many good things to see here. Nice work, yet again!

Oh, Firebringer. That book had a big influence on me as a writer. By the time I found it my own story was well under way, but it proved to me that other people -could- care about a story about unicorns. Also...I miss the Vale...I wish I had more time to rp again there...

The Vale's been in a bit of an activity slump recently. Honestly, I haven't had much time for RP myself, although I'm trying to get back into the community-side portion of the site. The Firebringer trilogy is such a beautiful example of world-building. The books bring out a real sense of culture and history without overdoing it so much that it feels like overkill, you know? They're an inspiration to me, too.

Overlord monkeys driving their owners off cliffs, into trees. Drunken courtship between species, with regrets to come in the morning. And that one gren, who just hauls off on somebody for no good reason and starts a war.
