This Alien is based on Banshee, but not one from modern media, it based on original Irish and Celtic folklore one, a the spirit of a beautiful maiden with pale skin foreshadowing the death of one of the family members by weeping, crying and singing charming, but at the same time sad, songs, but also it have a inspirations from Weeping Willow, because in Celtic folklore this tree is a symbol of female divinity, cause Banshee also a fully female spirits and women becomes Banshee by some mysterious divine force, (Also if you will look at meaning of Weeping Willow in various cultures, Greece for example, you will noticed some similarities to Willoweep) and also this fits with weeping theme. The Reason why one of words which makes a name of this alien is a Will-o'-Wisp is because is a ghostly stuff from Irish Folklore.
