Description
The Sabulovermidea are a group of titanically large worms that live in the desert expanses of Vekia. They travel by swimming under the sand. They use a special internal organ to vibrate the sand so that it behaves like liquid.

As meat eaters, they ambush creatures crossing the desert. To find these creatures, they slink around oases, blending into surrounding vegetation thanks to their patterned scales. Once fed, they can go for months without eating.

Many are rather small, but some mythical individuals can reach the size of a large long-necked dinosaur. They can live for hundreds of Vekian years as they have no predators once they reach a certain size.

Only the scarcity of food and inter-species fighting limits their ability to multiply. These fights are often fatal. The male has blue protrusions and is very protective of his female, as she carries the fertilized eggs in her body until they are ready to hatch.
