As you can tell from this set of pages, I grew a bit tired of painting backgrounds. They were starting to become a bit time-consuming. Luckily, I'm free for the rest of the month, so I'll hopefully be able to finish these off before the due date in October.

Anyways, back to the story. I'll admit there's a lot of text here, so I hope it's not too hard to follow. First off is Penelope's origins, which are nothing like Lin Lin's happy beginnings. Glory's Peak is not quite as descriptive here since wedward45 put in a much more detailed vision of Glory's Peak in his story. Go read it up when you have the time. Regardless, Penelope wasn't a true local. She was only raised there when she was very small, hence why she can't remember her family. Of course, Madras would know about the whole Herdier thing. Her ancestor was a Herdier too after all. Penelope does look like one, doesn't she? Not to mention, Herdier are rather smart Pokemon to begin with... Its just a theory though.

And then we come to the part where Lin Lin and Penelope explain how they met each other before arriving at Tabira. More to come later.

Some of you may notice I've put in a few cameos during the flashback sequence, all of which belong to the group itself as NPCs. First is Hedvig, a Quilladin chef and a local resident to Mosswood. Second is, as many of you are well aware, Xavier the Braixen thief. Lastly is Sloan the Primape. That Raticate beside him is just one of his random bandit goons that I made up and doesn't really carry much significance to the story; same with the Bouffalant pulling the trade wagon. Fun Fact: Domesticated water buffalo populate most of China, so Bouffalant was the first thing that came to mind when thinking of a physically strong Pokemon pulling a wagon from Xin Tou.
