Description It was a stormy night at our guild, we were tired and the weather was gloomy. We recently had an encounter with the enemy in a secluded forest to the north.

Rumors tell that the enemy had gotten their hands on a mysterious weapon of unknown origin.

It was a sign that we need someone who was knowledgeable in matters of the unknown. After a few days, we heard rumors of a powerful sorcerer who was powerful and had access to an extensive collection of knowledge.

The sorcerer in question lived among the mountains in a temple named Sanctum. Sir Antoni and the others were away tracking down possible hydra hideouts in search of this mysterious weapon. So the task fell upon me to find this renowned sorcerer.

My travels took me a while but I finally arrived at the sorcerer’s sanctum. It was an ominous sight to behold. It’s massive size puts every king’s castle to shame.

The outside had a design similar to Tibet temples in the lands to the south east continent. I hesitantly made my to the sanctum’s front door. However, before I could get a knock, the opened by itself with an eerie creaking sound following soon afterwards.

With my nerves on guard, I made my way inside; though when I entered, it did not set my nerves at ease.

The interior of the sanctum matched with the outside yet had an exotic regal aesthetic. My focus was distracted by the ominous yet elegant design of the main hall.

The area I found myself was barren of life as though this sanctum was abandoned ages ago, yet something in my mind told me that I wasn’t alone.

I saw a book case over to the left near the staircase. Intrigued, I made my way over to see what knowledge it would offer me.

I picked up a book and looked at its cover. It was in a language foreign to me. I opened the book and skimmed through it, unfortunately I could not read it.

“Distant traveler” an ominous voice echoed. I was startled by the voice and dropped the book in my hand.

I scanned the room with my eyes to find who else was in the room with me. I looked over to my left and there standing in the corner hiding in the shadow was figure shaped like a human.

The figure appeared from the shadow. It was a bearded gentleman no older than his 50s wearing garments not familiar in these lands. Around his neck, he wore an eye shaped gold medallion.

“Why have you come to my sanctum?” he asked coldly. “I came to this place to seek out a sorcerer who is widely known to have knowledge of all things supernatural in this realm, are you he?” I replied calmly.

He slowly approaches me like a leopard stalking its prey. “I am. My name is Stephanos Strange sorcerer supreme of this sanctum. Now I will ask again why are you here?” He answered as cold as before.

“Great sorcerer” I knelt down to my knee and bowed my head. “I have come far to seek your wisdom and knowledge. An evil force is growing its strength in the north. My scouts say that they have possession of a mysterious weapon. I fear that an age of darkness is at hand. That is why I wanted to seek you out to help us fight off this evil.”

Stephanos stares down at me in silent, of what he was thinking of, I would dare not guess. With a flick of his hand, the book that I dropped before suddenly levitates off the floor and returns to its spot on the bookshelf.

“I’m sorry but I can not help you nor can I give you my knowledge.” He said grimly. He turned his back to me. “The knowledge I possess is not of this world and will have dire consequences should it spread passed this sanctum.” He showed me the front door. “Go back to your lands. I’m sorry I cannot be of any assistance.”

I rose to my feet and shaking with frustration. “I cannot leave, our world is in danger of a dangerous force!” I protested. I marched over to Stephanos and grabbed him by the collar.

“You will give me the knowledge I seek or I will force it out of you!” I roared angrily. Then out of nowhere his cape smacked my hand off his collar. I looked at my hand puzzled by what transpired.

As I turned my attention back to Stephanos, he took out his sword and conjured multiple swords and commanded them to charge at me with haste.

I quickly took my sword out of its sheath and blocked swords swings left and right for as long as I could.

Suddenly the swords disappeared just as I was running out of breath. I looked up at Stephanos and he stared down at me with a cold expression.

“Are you ready to give up your quest?” He asked ominously. I finally caught my breathe and readied myself for his next attack.

He puts his sword back into his scabbard, and made a series of hand gestures. Suddenly sparks came out of his hands. He had conjured a rope made out of magic and used it as a whip to attack me.

I dodged his lashes left and right, waiting for a chance to close the distance between us and tackle him to the ground.

For a brief moment, I had my window of opportunity and took it. I rushed at him with as much speed that I could muster but he caught me off guard. Like a master of martial arts, he took me down and bounded me with his magical rope.

I struggle to free myself but to no avail. Stephanos leans down towards me and I looked up at him still determined to get my answer.

“I understand that you think my knowledge will help you in your time of need, however my knowledge has the potential of bringing forth calamity to your world and more.” He raises his head up and releases me from his rope.

“Go home knight, I can not help you” he said as he slowly made his way up the stairs. I darted towards him. “My scouts warned me that the weapon was of unknown origin and hade a magical yellow jewel!” Stephanos stopped dead in his tracks.

The room was silent for a brief moment, then Stephanos turned to me with a serious look upon his face. “This weapon you speak of, what properties have your scouts told you?” He inquired cautiously.

“My scouts say they witnessed a tall man with slick black hair using this weapon to turn knights against their nations and have used it to give those loyal to them supernatural abilities.” I came to this sanctum to seek out a way to stop this weapon and to defeat the ones wielding this weapon.

Stephanos stood there processing the information that I had given. He looked at me in the eye. “If this mystery weapon you speak of is what I fear, then our whole existence is at risk.” he warned me.

“Very well, I will help you stop this weapon. However, when it is done, it cannot be undone and will potentially herald a force never seen before in this world. Should that come to pass, we must be ready.” He quickly puts together a small bag of books and gestures me to follow.

We made our way outside. Stephanos turned to the sanctum and casted a spell of invisibility. In a matter of seconds, the sanctum vanished as though it never existed.

I offered him a seat on my horse, but he declined saying “I have a better means of travel”. Extending one arm out and making a circular motion with the other, he summoned a portal leading to back to my guild. I was amazed by Stephanos’ magical powers that I thought to myself “he is indeed a sorcerer supreme”.

Weapon ability: mystic arts-allows the wielder to use magic to conjure magical energy weapons, use teleportation, manipulate the environment using magic and many other abilities those trained in the mystic arts can do. Warning: frequent magic casting can drain a wielder’s magical reservoir.
