Description The Baden Aqueduct is a listed structure of the Vienna Water Supply in the course of the 1st Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline in Baden near Vienna in Lower Austria.
The 1st Vienna High Spring Pipeline, called the Kaiser Franz Josef High Spring Pipeline in its time, is part of Vienna's water supply system and was the first supply of perfect drinking water to Vienna. After four years of construction, the 95-kilometre-long pipeline was opened on 24 October 1873. Today it supplies around 62 million cubic metres per year (53 per cent of the total volume of Vienna's drinking water, as of 2007).
