Yes, that looks so much better! The design that they had for Dr. Puzz didn't sit right with me either.
I thought the tentacles on her face made it look like she had a beard. I'm also glad that you got rid of her "hands" and just made them tentacles and made them look thinner. Her arms in the original look a little bit too thick for her skinny body.
I was also thinking maybe they should also remove the nose or something. Because she looks kinda weird with a human-like face.
I hope they still have a chance to go back and fix this character design.

If it was up to me I'd remove the human resemblences entirely. I'd prefer this game's universe without humanoids.
But this picture was just supposed to show how a few changes to this existing design can already make it work much better.
If I had to design her myself I'd make her look like a straight-up octopus, no human legs, no nose, kinda like Octodad in that she still has a lab coat and walks on two or four tentacles like a human would (zognoid pun not intended).
She could still have features suggesting her femininity but not in this blatant humanized way.
Maybe I'll draw and upload that design too.
I also hope they still change it. I mean have you seen the comments on the update page? Every second one (or probably more) says they don't like the design.
But that's what this is for, right? To see what the public thinks. And right now it's only an artwork, not the finished character in the game. Maybe they don't even have the game's model yet. It would surprise me if they said they wouldn't change it.

Yeah, I saw all the other comments as well. The majority agreed that they didn't like the character design. There was even another artist who made a sketch concept on how to make the design look better as well. Here's his concept drawing of Dr. Puzz. i.imgur.com/O7Iy6Ln.png
I'm hoping that this is not the final design of the character. Imagine, if Playtonic decided to keep this character design and decided to keep it as a secret and once the game is released we see this character in the game? That would be awful.
I hope they say the people's feedback, including yours and the other artist's feedback, and re-do Dr. Puzz's character design.

For some reason, she looks better in the screenshots where there's things to compare her too. Not so much when she's on her own. I do still like this design better with the tentacle rearrangement, though I wouldn't recommend removing her humanoid traits because her whole "scientist whose experiment went wrong" look would be ruined otherwise.

Yeah, I saw that and I like it too. (It's pretty much like mine except no nose. XP)
Let's just see if they adress it in the next update.
The artworks they showed didn't really look like a final design anyway. They looked a bit... rushed? Maybe that's just me.
That said, I do like Dr. Quack's design and Capital B looks good as well.

Yeah, I hope they will address it at a later update. Well, after all, they are making this game for fans and they are willing to listen to fans. Dr. Quack's design is kinda funny. He's inside a gumball machine.
I wonder if it's just his head only, or if his whole body is inside the gumball machine, but you don't see it.
As for Capital B, he has an interesting design. I'm kinda curious if he has wings hidden underneath that cap.
At first, I didn't thought he was a be until they mentioned his name.

There's one more thing that I would like to talk about.
As for the character Trowzers Snake, what do you think about his name? Because I keep reading that people think his name is an innuendo for something inappropriate. I thought it was because people were purposely being gross about it because I've been hearing and seeing stuff that people will make something inappropriate out of anything - even if said thing wasn't inappropriate.
I tried looking it up the context of name, but now I'm not so sure.

Wow. That's....... wow. I was hoping that it wasn't true.
To be honest, I'm not into that kind of humor. When I heard about Trowzer Snake, I thought it was just something silly. I didn't know that it actually meant something inappropriate. I'm aware that Banjo-Kazooie had some hidden jokes as well. Even Conker had them, too. Although, it's obvious that Conker was a rated M game despite it's cute and cheery appearance.
I can't believe that. Wouldn't this kinda backfire though? Because I know there's going to be some people complaining about it. Parents and the SJWs. I think it would have been better if they were subtle about it. Or at least give the character a different name and just let fans "nickname" the character or something.

It IS subtle though. You'll only make the raunchy connection if you already know the term. Anyone else will just think "It's a snake wearing pants! How Silly! And his name is Trowzer because he wears trousers! Hah hah hah!"
In my opinion the best adult jokes are the ones that go over the kids' heads without them noticing.
If they already have a naughty mind they'll get it, if not they won't be any the wiser.
Banjo Kazooie's raunchy jokes weren't even that hidden. Gruntilda's surname is Winkybunion and her sister's name is Mingella. Winky is british slang for penis and minge is british slang for vagina.
Then there's things like Mumbo talking about his "knackers" or a sexy babe carrying melons in front of her... "melons".
