Description The Farm of Ivakbarrow:

The Hillfort of the Elven Hamlet of Ivaktúk, early during the Five Warring Kingdoms Period (circa 2000 a.a.H)

During the Five Warring Kingdoms period of the Northwest of Aels (1974-2203 a.a.H), the Baron of Hanat, needing to populate his southern borders against the Kanov barbarians of the Barlans, accepted the settlement of Grey Elves in his scarcely populated lands, as in the case of Ivaktúk, how the new elven settlers called Ivakbarrow.

Grey Elves, who had been facing a period of persecution among Degoland and Sargos, would accept the offer of the Duchy of Hanat...

But his offer had a reason. Hanat was a Frontier region, and while it wasn't in the way of most of the armies of Sargos and Degoland -yet, still had to endure the march of some of them-, they where as well right on the border, and were target for the Kanov raiders from the Barlans.

After the first destruction of the elven hamlet of Ivakbarrow, the survivors of Ivakbarrow began to build a hill-fort, using the existing barrow and readily available wood of the forests of Hanat.

This will proof to be a wise idea, as the hamlet will be razed several times... but the hill-fort will provide the much needed protection to the elven settlers.

Tired of the raids by Kanovs or soldiers of the Five Kingdoms -either enemies or the own armies of Degoland-, slowly but surely they not only improved the defences fo the fort, but began to build more permanent housing within the protective palisades.

One probably doesn't need to substantial a fortification to hold the Kanovs back.

Elves, causing deforestation.  All that wood for the buildings and palisade have to come from somewhere!

This reminds me of a novel where forest based people could certainly cut trees down for building, but had to have a prayer ceremony for each tree they cut down!  Make the acquisition of wood a pain in the ass...  It was a fatal flaw in building defenses against raiders.

Nice bird’s eye view map with plenty of good details; the big bridge is my personal favorite.

Will you make the other 1 or 2 progression stages like you have with Millbridge?
