Description
A space mech Nikopol A1 Aenian Pilot from one of the LCP -Paternic Free Colonies- Colonial Militias, from Paternostria.
An Aenian is the name to Artificial Elves, or clones of elves. Once clonation technology was being developed, some ONG funded by elves in Aiers had seen this as an oportunity to give a new chance to the elven races, beginning large investigations for this purpose. While it wasn't easy, finally this was achieved, and elves ensured that as well elven DNA will be in stock in several ark projects in some of the missions sended to the Nebulosa of Ots.After the Fifth World War of Aiers and the loss of contact with the Aiers Cradleworld, some very hard initial decades were lived by the aierian survivors, before they could settle and begin building their own, new home worlds.
As the situation settled down, elves living in the new ostarian human nations, looked to space and thought they could colonize some new worlds, to give the elven races a new world, only for them, and a new destiny.
From the initiative of Viccen Aen and the Aen Fundation, he contracted Kasparov CIA for the terraformation of a world for elfkind, while GENTEK cloned from either DNA samples -or reconstructed from the DNA of humans with elven ancestors- elves.
These elves will be known then as Aenian, for the Aen Fundation, and this first, neo-elven nation in the nebulosa of Ots, will be called Aenor.
Aenor will be later become a member state of the LCP, Paternic Free Colonies, an alliance of colonial worlds to avoid being annexed by the large empires -but which where eventually dragged to the wars of Ots.- Since then, aenian began to migrate to other nations, and fund new colonies, existing important Aenian minorities in the RFB and the Galactic Union of Nations.
The Aenian became a general term to any aierian-elf (of any of the elven races), even to other artificial elves that weren't from the Aen Fundation. Neither was done a distinction between cloned elves, or sons and daughters of these cloned elves, being all called Aenian.
As well, the term was used to differentiate Aierian-elves -the Aenian- and the Otsarian-elves -the Lorran-
The Aenian of the LCP
Aside of Aenor, due the succesful results of the clonation of Aenian, the government of Paternostria -the acting "capitol world" of the confederation of planets and national governments of the LCP decided to change the stock of their cloned population from artificial humans to artificial elves:
Because of this, the Aenian will become the mayority of population in Paternostria (117.13): out of the 470,000,000 inhabitants, 400,000,000 where aenian elves, and other 600,000,000 will be cloned among the LCP: 1,000,000,000 of LCP elves, number that they never had before.
However, some aierian elves, and several elven organizations and companies began to question the culture and the Paternostrian Aenian Elves: As they where cloned by and for a human government, while they weren't to be servants or second class citizens -as some oppositors of the LCP claimed-, with many "parents" making elven clones with their genetical material and elven one to have an "eternal descendence", other elves critized the Paternostrian aenian culture of being basically just pointy eared humans.
The Paternostrian aenians resented this, and began to develop their own culture. But a culture their elven ancestors and other aenian seemed as inferior.
Specially their "elfpop" music. The other elves feeled insulted it even was called "elf"pop music, being "paternostrian crap".
The clothes are inspired in ones of many animes, but none specific. :3 Much of Martian Successor Nadesico pilot suits, but as well other animes which names I have forget.

For some unknown reason, I have this urge to hug her. Must be the soft colors and the overall softness of the character.

I wanted to include a "Top Gun" related joke, but I think I'll just watch every motion in this foolish lover's game... Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUis9yβ¦
Dang, someone must make a love story that would include an Aenian pilot girl, a sleek fighter aircraft (not sure if space fighter, or a simple fighter jet), a longing man, some complicated military conflict and romantic evening beach scenes... and a walrus - Β just for originality, because hey, how many romantic stories have walruses? None, therefore it is a totally original idea.
Hollywood should hire me for creating movie scripts.

well, it is sort of that way! They helmets are however designed by aenian for aenian, so while they must place their ears backward, it's not umcomforatble as just stuffing a human helmet!

Billie-Bonce In reply to Shabazik [2013-10-31 17:59:21 +0000 UTC]
Actually, on the Damned planet they also very soon got helmets adopted for the elves. Also, warm winter hats and earphones. Earphones were a bigl problem, by the way. For the sake of comfort to the elves the earphones must: fit thoroughly, don't prevent them moving the ears, to be less loud, to have wider frequency range (the elves hear much better than humans), and to provide high end quality (because those elves are terribly demanding to the natural, undistorted sound).Β

Very good picture. Story about elfpop music made me laugh. And I understand why humans want aenians children. Touch to eternity is very strong temptation. Too strong for humans.Β

Shabazik In reply to Savachika [2013-10-31 10:06:00 +0000 UTC]
yes indeed is: and while elves doesn't live for eternity -but hundreds of years-, hundreds of years sound better than only roughly hundred years, with the last four decades or so of being elders!!
This was the process: the human mother and human father went to a laboriatory, where they give a sample of their genetic material. This sample was mixed in a random way, having 50 and 50% of "father" and "mother". But then the DNA sample of the "son" was modified, to be from human to elf!!

I remember Martian Successor Nadesico!Β Nice to see some reference to those pilots.Β I loved the cyber-nanotech in that show.
Β
It is surprising that so many elves were cloned?Β And not used as lesser people, or at least no worse than human clones.Β Although I do like the idea of human parents wanting elven children who will be seemingly near immortal in lifespan.Β That makes some sense, as does having the ability to manipulate mana being bioengineered into them?Β So that "mana-tech" devices and mechs might become possible?Β Great for making machines that can't be used by non-elves?Β The idea also reminds me a little of the "Crest of Stars" anime with bio-engineered Abh race with their bioengineered special sense, and devices that allowed them to interface that extra sense in their spaceships.Β Also, the rulers of the Abh had pointy elf ears!
Β
So the Aenians of Paternostria might be derived from humans, but bioengineered to be elves?Β I wonder if they were pretty much just like elves, tending to be smaller, or at least thinner than humans, or were much like "humans with pointy ears", scaled to human size and bulk?
Β
Although in a space age environment, small, graceful bodies might be very efficient aboard space craft of all types!

Shabazik In reply to larqven [2013-10-31 10:09:42 +0000 UTC]
indeed: long life spans, and manΓ‘ manipulation?
To other human groups, the idea of changing their humanity was a sin and an aberration... to the Paternostrian (humans), was a tempation too difficult to reject!!
The Aenian "children" of humans where created in laboratories with the DNA samples of their "parents", to be genetically linked... but the DNA code was modified to elf instead of human!
It was a extremly costly thought, so most paternostrian elves where actually clones of elves. :3

larqven In reply to Shabazik [2013-11-01 08:01:39 +0000 UTC]
Thank You for the clarification.Β
Yes, tis is very much like the AbhΒ in the "Crest of the Stars" universe. Β In this anime, a bioengineered race of humans called the Abh ran a massive interstellar empire.Β Regular humans could serve in their military forces, and could sometimes rise to gain the legal status of being Abh themselves.Β
But any children that they would have as part of the legal lineage would be genetically altered to be Abh.Β UsuallyΒ Abh children were created entirely through artificial means in the first place.Β They could and sometimes didΒ just do so by natural sexual means.Β But the child would subjected to rigorous analysis to ensure that it was acceptable to Abh criteria; and generally, sexually reproduction was generally denigrated by the Abh as being a sillyΒ gamble to makeΒ in having a child.Β

There had been some years ago a kind abig project to make a sequel tabletop rpg if you wish to both Shadowrun AND it's mythical past, Earthdawn (an interesting and flavorfull fantasy setting), Eclipse I believe was the name; the 'Eight Age' longggggggggggg after the passing of magic after the 'apocalypse' closing Sixth age of Shadowrun (the universe a cycle high in magic, low, high... its a bit complex to explain)... MAGIC AND SPESH MEUREENZ if you wish.
Albeit I heard eitheir the game was cancelled, or 'disconnected' from both games - the fact ALL THREE games are tied to different corps may be factor in this...
