Wellp, I guess you all know how when we get X or Y version, we also get to choose one of the original starters as a Mega Evolution? Poor old Venusaur... he's been pretty much neglected hasn't he. The other two look very badass! Everyone seems to be going for Charizard, right? But not me. I will always love that walking palm-tree-dinosaur!

I'm also apparently part of the 1%. Bulbasaur has always been my favorite. And while Mega Venasaur may not have quite the same flair to him as the others...
He has Thick Fat.

OK, honestly have you SEEN Bulbasaur in Pokemon X and Y?
It's like five times cuter then the other two.
And Bulbasaur is my least favorite Kanto starter (that's not much of an insult though) but man, it's in my opinion the cutest.
I'm planning on getting the other two (because when I first got Pokemon I had Charmander/Charizard and Blastoise is my favorite Kanto starter, and I have serious nostalgia for both), but I feel a bit bad about that. Because Bulbasaur is so cute this round. I'm so glad to see the little guy getting some love. I've seen it from a few places.

I chose bulbasaur before I learned they had mega evolutions. I stand firm in my decision. I adore bulbasaur

Not only the mega form is lazy in bulbasaur, the plant type is one of the weakest types
What is a true shame, because I love bulbasaur from the pokemon anime, but for sure I never use him in the game.
I mean solar beam, the most pwerfull attack take two turns while the fire one attacks first and rest after wich means a lot in a battle

I may be with you by choosing a Bulbasuar as my starter. I've never really used it in the main series games and I would like to have it and Fennekin, but man do I want a mega Charizard. That drought ability will actually make one of my all time favorite Pokemon useful!
Man, this decision is tough. Either two relatively new ones that I'm not sure I will like, or one I know I will love and another I might like.
Also, Thick fat is a rather good ability. Takes away two weaknesses that really hurt it.
