Description Finally finished my second attempt at using water colour pencils to colour, they are really hard to use. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Haven't posted art in a while, probably will upload them all soon, haven't really done any digital art because been busy with uni, but a fair amount of sketches in my books so have improved a bit over the year.

Okay, now I'm convinced pencils can do more than meets the eye and I want to get my color pencils out and try to draw anything.
Can I have some tips how to try and make something as amazing?

Haha thank you, this drawing is done with water colour pencils so it turns out smoother and a bit brighter in colour.

But yeah, personally I found looking up tutorial videos on colours and tips with pencils definitely helped me a lot.
I think the main tip that I can give you which helped me is to not be afraid of colours and colouring messily, it's ok to go wild and try things out.  Personally I found that made my drawings look a lot more interesting. I mean if you think it looks too messy or crazy then you can easily tone it down a bit in your next drawing but i found that by shading with colours that i'd never usually think about shading with made the drawing less bland. It also helps to look up what colours go together well and keeping that in mind as you colour. Also having an overall colour theme/palette to make sure the drawing is still controlled. but yeah mainly just to try play around with colours, also make sure the colouring pencils can properly get a bold colour out, this tends to be a problem with really cheap pencils but if you can't get a proper colour out of your pencils even if you try press hard it's probably better to buy some new ones which do, they don't have to be expensive, just good enough to produce a bright colour, like cheapish faber castell pencils work fine.

Sorry about the long message, I hope I helped

I'll be posting more pencil coloured drawings soon.
