The chilly winter wind that rolled off of the sea that surrounded Taika's little corner of the island had begun to wane, taking a milder personality in preparation for the transition to spring. Everyone, including the great sea winds, it seemed, was holding their breath for the impending meeting-of-the-packs. No, of course he wasn't going. He knew his ever-hardworking parents would be right there beside Lennart. Eugh. Besides, it hadn't been all that long since he'd picked up and taken off for Taika. He was sure ingratiating himself here, with the fellows like him who would rather eat pebbles than engage in the riveting political squabbles at the gathering, would be a much better use of his time and energy.
