Description
The Horrow's a mysterious being. He walks the earth only one night per year, on Hallow's eve. With him he carries a shovel and a pole.
Illuminating the autumn landscape with his jack-o-lantern-head, he searches for newly dug graves. When he finds a fresh one, he digs it up, cuts the head of whoever was laid to rest and impales it on his pole. That persons spirit now belongs to the Horrow, and he may use it to haunt the living. If you wish to protect your loved ones in their final slumber, dry chanterelles in small bags and hang them on top of the tomb-stone. This repels the Horrow. Or, if you're really brave, you can guard the grave with a torch through the night. (Ill-advised.)
