Genies are Astral beings like Banshees and Marid's, who were all born from the makings of some old god long forgotten to time.
they are natives of Char and once the Genie race controlled a vast and brutal empire, before the massacre of the gods and Evil's take over toppled their power.
many Genies are now Aligned with Evil, they can mostly be found in Beierm, acquiring vast amounts of wealth and power, the genies of today are split into several large family's, these family's are normally on good terms with one another, however Backstabbing and political warfare are not uncommon.

because Genies are Astral beings, their life-force's are held separate from the body, unlike most other Astral races however, Genies place their life-force inside magical gems which they keep hidden in their palaces and homes, a Genie can only be killed if the gem is destroyed as such they tend to be very protective of it.
