When thinking about underwater photography it could come to our mind just animals and some other things that are even a little bit exotic and scary. By combining fine art, a great use of concepts, perfect lighting and beautiful people Elena Kalis revealed something amazing to the observer: an unknown world of magically known elements.
She has been able to melt two separate habitats, Earth and Sea, which on her pictures cohabit as a return to the Origins. It looks like a fairytale (and she knows it well, since many titles she has given to her pitures recall to the world of magic) told us by her pieces of art.
Her wonderful style (and of course this amazing effect which make her subjects look as if they were flying) conveys me the idea that never is impossible, if we are just able to see it with creativity. This is not just a picture, but this is a lifestyle, a philosophy and, of course, one of the artist's masterpieces.

It is not very often i see a picture as magical as this. You've captured the look of Alice perfectly and the model has the perfect face, like she's not scared of the water, its amazing. (im not saying she is scared)
I also love the colours, Lots of pinks, purples, Blue, aaand i love the socks !!! so cute !
I love her dress too ^^ Bright blue, and old styled.
Looking at the collection of these photos, i.e: falling into the water, i can truely tell you have an amazing mind.
I would sure like to see the world through your eyes, just for a day.

p.s i love it!!!

Technically, I think this is flawless, you have captured the model perfectly, the idea of Alice in WaterLand is brilliant! Shame it couldn't be a real Flamingo!
The model looks perfect, she really doesn't look like she's in water.
The originality, though some may argue against this, is wonderful and quirky! Even though it is themed off Alice In Wonderland, I think you've captured the idea, and made it purely your own.
Keep up the good work and the amazing, unique photos, and I hope to maybe critique some more of your photos one day!

It's not very often I'm stunned by a photograph, so congratulations first on creating such an instance.
The overall composition is superb. The background is just that; a background. All the focus is on the subject, and the colors work in tandem.
I have but two qualms, both of which are negligible but shall be stated anyway. The first is the top of your Alice's head breaking the water's surface. It's not only a tad distracting, but it breaks the otherwise seamless fluidity of the photo.
The second is the choice of what appears to be a helium party balloon for a prop. The colors do not contrast enough and it looks very awkward. In Wonderland, where the unexpected is most often seen, it's not altogether out of place, but I would expect something of more vivid color.
Those trifles out of the way, the other details are lovely. I couldn't help but smile when I noticed the socks weren't completely even. Her hair flowing back and down while the puffy sleeves of her dress flow up add to the weightlessness of the picture. My favorite point, however, is the precariously blank expression. Merely in the act of holding her breath, she is almost so many emotions; curiosity, fear, determination and many more I am rather hard-pressed to recollect the names of at 5 o'clock in the morning.
Color me impressed, and good day to you.

this is wonderful. I love the distortion, the reflection, the hair, and especially the colors. my only suggestion is maybe cropping so that the model is more to the right and not so central, though the shadow in the background does help to decrease that emphasis with the composition. though, that being said this is still a really nice shot.

As everyone else has said, this is an incredible piece! At first glimpse, it is very difficult to discern that the photo was in fact taken underwater, due to the feeling of normality in this image. Her hair looks no different and there are no bubbles to suggest being under water. She has a very beautiful face and the colours really work well to create that cutesy, fairy tale-like feeling. Her ability to remain natural in her looks whilst submerged in water is quite impressive too. Overall, a beautiful photo!
