Description Like International Women's Day, this is my first tribute for Pride Month a.k.a the month where the LGBTQ+ community get to shine. And to celebrate, I've drawn three same-sex couples that stand out to me. They are Ruby and Sapphire (Steven Universe), Ty and Indy (Ducktales 2017), and Charlie and Vaggie (Hazbin Hotel).

I'm a straight person, but I deeply respect the LGBTQ+ community and how much awareness it's spreading. In addition, while Hazbin Hotel gets a pass since it's aimed for adults anyway, I give props to family-oriented cartoons like Steven Universe, Ducktales 2017, and others for spreading awareness about the community by featuring LGBTQ+ characters. There's no doubt that a lot of people are still picky about this, but I believe it's alright to give younger viewers exposure on the LGBTQ+ community. It's all about showing it at the appropriate level. For example, when it comes to presenting the topic to elementary school kids, it's alright to confirm that two characters of the same sex are in a relationship or are married, but have them treat each other as friends first (don't have them "show their love to each other" yet). And when those kids get to the middle-school age, that's when you can present the intimacy. That way, the younger viewers can get an appropriate understanding of LGBTQ+ without getting bad impressions.

I would've included Benson, Rachel, and Clyde's dads here, but I can only draw so much.

By the way, since a lot of people have been speaking for the oppressed lately, I'd like to do the same for a certain character I love. Please don't criticize Violet Sabrewing so much. Stop saying that she's boring an flat. She's a new character who has only had a major appearance in three episodes so it's too early to put her down. As far as I know, she is an rational, introverted little girl who may be good at certain things but doesn't have any specific high goals at the moment and prefers to speak in scientific terms. I'm sure along the course of the show, Violet will have some development. And if she doesn't, we just have to accept and respect who she is, just like how we should respect introverted kids in real life. Remember, EVERYONE has a PERSONALITY. NOT EVERYONE has a LOUD AND RAMBUNCTIOUS PERSONALITY.

Anyway, hope you like it!

Ruby and Sapphire belong to Cartoon Network/Rebecca Sugar
Ty and Indy belong to Disney
