Axel WAS the Nobody of Lea, but LEA IS DEAD! This is revealed in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Axel's Somebody and Saix's Somebody knew each other and joined the Organization together. When Xeahnort's Heartless took over Riku, Xeahnort's Heartless kicked Riku's Heart out of Riku's Body. When that happened, Riku's Nobody was born. Riku's Nobody was in a far distant world, Riku's Nobody was scared and frightened (Riku's Nobody was a lesser-being Nobody). Furthermore, he was an Assassin Nobody (Axel controls those kind of Nobodies). Then, Axel found Riku's Nobody and takes him in. Riku's Nobody then fades into Axel. Riku's Nobody and Lea's Nobody become one VERY POWERFUL being. THAT'S WHY AXEL HAS RIKU'S EYES! (It's unknown on what color Axel's eyes were before the fusion. It's implied that they MIGHT have been brown or golden like Cissinnei's Eyes, the Red Shuriken wielding Turk from FF7 Crisis Core.) Then Xemnas started to see Axel change dramatically from what he used to be like. Xemans wanted Axel to take care of Roxas, because Axel was the Assassin of the Organization AND Axel was more open and more friendly than he used to be. It's implied that before Lea's Nobody and Riku's Nobody fused together, Lea's Nobody HAD NO EMOTION OR CARE WHATSOEVER!!! Since Saix refused to accept any lesser being fading into his body and soul, Saix just got more and more evil and careless. IN FACT, Saix wouldn't any let any of his Claymore wielding Lesser Being Nobodies even touch him! IF one of his Lesser being Nobodies came up to him asking for a hug, Saix would be like "ARRRRR!!!! GET OFF OF ME YOU $%#^$^%%# %^%#!!!!"
This is key: Axel was willing to talk and hug his lesser being Nobodies. Axel was also willing to let a Lesser-Being Nobody fade into him. Then again, Riku's Nobody was the ONLY ONE that ever really wanted give up his existence just to make a SUPERIOR NOBODY stronger.
This is key: Saix would NEVER let anyone fade into him! He would just kill the being and absorb them their power that way IF he could absorb other beings' powers! I'm only saying IF a lesser being Nobody wanted to fade into Saix...but Saix is such a lying jerk to begin with, NOBODY would ever want to fade into Saix! In fact, the Other Superior Nobodies, (EXCEPT FOR Roxas and Namine) had NO FEELINGS AND NO CARE! THE OTHER SUPERIOR NOBODIES NEVER LET THEIR LESSER BEING NOBODIES EVER GO NEAR OR EVEN TOUCH THEM.
So in the end, When Axel killed himself, he faded into the darkness looking for his heart; however, HIS HEART WAS GONE!!! Lea's Heart was destroyed by Saix! This is because Saix wanted Lea's Nobody (Axel) to try and take over the Organization; however, Axel didn't know how to take it over, and he didn't know why Saix wanted the Organization so bad. So in the end, it was a complete disaster. After Saix joined, he forced Axel to join as well. Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed this fact! Therefore, since Axel's Heart was dead and gone, he still had half of Riku inside of him. In the darkness, he found Riku. Axel remembered that he had Riku's Nobody inside of him (the two Nobodies were permanently fused together) and so, Axel faded into Riku.
While all of this is going on in the Darkness, Sora was battling Roxas in a different realm, (in KH II: Final Mix) the Organization is talking about Axel's death, Luxord had a hunch that Axel put something that didn't exist on the line. Luxord also says that Axel was satisfied with what he got. (Luxord thought that Axel gave up everything he had because he couldn't take the pain anymore, finally he exploded and gave up his existence.) Luxord finally states Axel probably won! (Axel EMERGED AS Riku's Nobody!) Luxord confirms this by saying, "Obviously, Axel cheated!" (This is because Axel wasn't Riku's Nobody to begin with!) Then Saix butts in, and says, "All Axel got was NOTHING! He wanted a heart so bad, that he got killed by getting too close to one. HE WAS WEAK!" (Note: At this moment, Saix is thinking- "Roxas already took care of Axel" In my opinion, Saix might have also been thinking about this- "No matter what Axel did, even fusing with that stupid lesser being Nobody, HE WAS STILL WEAK, ROXAS SUCCESSFULLY TOOK CARE OF HIM..." Of course Saix was WAY OFF!) Xemnas then interupts Saix and Xemnas says, "Even through weakness, there are openings, perhaps Roxas has now been awakened."
After Roxas was defeated by Sora, Axel's mind tapped into Roxas's mind, the two FORMER NOBODIES accept their fates and fade into the light. (In my opinion, I think Namine's mind was also in this scene, she might have been hiding in the background though.) THEREFORE, IT WAS A ROXAS AND AXEL (SORA AND RIKU) MOMENT! BUT...NAMINE WAS STILL THERE!!!
Later on, Saix sees Riku emerging out of nowhere, then Saix goes like, and he screams out, "I thought Roxas already took care of you!" (Note: Saix saw Riku and Roxas fight, and Saix saw Riku strangling Roxas in the end. Saix also saw Riku disappearing with DiZ. When Saix said, "I thought Roxas already took of you!" He saw Axel inside of Riku, therefore, he couldn't believe that Axel was living on within Riku! So in the end, when Namine faded into Kairi, and when Roxas faded into Sora, WE DON'T SEE RIKU IN THIS SCENE! (NOTE: IT WAS A ROXAS AND NAMINE (SORA AND KAIRI) MOMENT!) IF WE DID, RIKU MIGHT HAVE BEEN TALKING TO AXEL. AXEL WOULD BE ALL GHOSTLY SPIRITUAL LIKE ROXAS AND NAMINE AT THIS TIME. FURTHERMORE, AXEL WOULD FADED BACK INTO RIKU. AT THE LAST SCENE OF KINGDOM HEARTS II, WHEN ROXAS AND NAMINE ARE SMILING AT EACH OTHER WITHIN SORA AND KAIRI, IF THIS PART INCLUDED RIKU, WE WOULD SEE AXEL SMILING HAPPILY AT ROXAS AND NAMINE!!! THAT'S THE TRUTH!!! SO IN CONCLUSION!!! ROXAS IS THE NOBODY COUNTERPART OF VEN AND SORA, NAMINE IS THE NOBODY COUNTERPART OF SORA AND KAIRI, AND AXEL IS THE NOBODY COUNTERPART OF LEA AND RIKU!!!! THIS IS ONE OF MANY THINGS THAT MAKES ROXAS, AXEL, AND NAMINE "SPECIAL" NOBODIES. ANOTHER REASON WHY THEY ARE SPECIAL NOBODIES IS BECAUSE ROXAS, AXEL, AND NAMINE ARE THE ONLY NOBODIES THAT ARE CLOSEST TO "THE LIGHT". ALSO, ROXAS, AXEL, AND NAMINE ARE THE ONLY NOBODIES THAT DIDN'T FADE INTO THE DARKNESS COMPLETELY AND DIE OFF!!!! ROXAS, AXEL, AND NAMINE SURVIVE AND LIVE ON WITHIN SORA, RIKU, AND KAIRI. THE REST OF THE ORGANIZATION MEMBERS FALL COMPLETELY INTO THE DARKNESS AND DIE ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!

SO TO SUM THINGS UP, ROXAS IS SORA'S NOBODY, NAMINE IS KAIRI'S NOBODY, AND AXEL IS RIKU'S NOBODY! PERIOD, END OF STORY!!!
